I'll echo @Z-Knight. The cold was awful. Especially waiting for the corrals. I wandered around everywhere I could think to look and couldn't find the meet up and ended up in the corral pretty early.
Had some GI issues in the first half that cost me around 8:00, but the knee was holding up really well. As a result, I started playing with my intervals and pacing after AK in a vain attempt to make that time up, which resulted in my knee flaring up at a couple of points. Had to back off to the original plan at that point, but still finished in 5:11:02 with a 4:42 negative split! Still not sure how we managed to have a biting headwind for 3/4 of a loop course, though.
This isn't one that's going to light up the record books for me, but considering I haven't been able to get a training run longer than 8 miles in since my marathon the first weekend in November, I'll take it and be happy with the effort and my set of Dopey medals!
Congratulations to everyone else who was out there today!
