Have fun! My son and his 3 friends (running the Marathon) left for Boston Logan Airport at 5 this morning. In the air now... naturally the last thing he said to me before leaving was "can I borrow some money?" (not kidding!)

Monorail will likely be going for half and marathon only - bus to 5K, 10K start and expo. And you'll likely share those buses with the Poly and GF. Would be a great place to stay if you have people traveling with you who want to spectate the half and marathon.

Contemporary shares with Wildnerness Lodge and Fort Widnerness I think. But still sharing either way.

I just received an email... Extracted below... I have followed RunDisney on Twitter and FB and turned ON "Notifications".

Meanwhile, I'm heading to the supermarket for a roll of big black garbage bags... my preferred pre-race "raincoat" or (when cold) windbreaker.

I wish I'd thought to bring a pair of old throw-away socks and sneakers too. Might have been nice to stash my real stuff in a waterproof bag until just before the gun. Ahh well... it's just water!

"Due to the potential of lightning in the area for Saturday’s Half Marathon, we are actively monitoring the weather forecast and will share information with runners through our official @runDisney Twitter account, the Digital Event Guide, the WDW Marathon event page on Facebook and through Runner Tracking.

The race will proceed in the event of rain as long as no lightning is present. Event participants are encouraged to stay alert, be patient and check back for updates."

I don't remember anything. I don't think they did it last year but did the year before.

That's correct. They did it in 2015 for at least some WDW races but not for DL. Nothing in 2016 though.

runDisneys never had to cancel a race before right? I know they've shortened it before, Wine and Dine and I swear I heard about them shortening either the half or the full one year due to weather after the start. Just hoping that stays true.

Off the topic of the weather who else saw the guy in the exoskeleton this morning? I passed him heading to go around the front of Spaceship Earth and he was going a fairly steady pace all things considered.

I saw him during the 5k! Everyone who passed him was cheering him on

Yep saw him in the breezeway for the 5k and close to going back into epcot from boardwalk area for the 10k. He "tripped" today and his person was going to help him and he firmly said "I've got out"... I'm an emotional dude anyway, but the last two days when I've seen him just a flood of emotions hit...
