There was a bunny that darted across the course in front of me. The runner next to me had to jump over it!

I think it drug out the start of the race. We had to wait quite a while for the last starters to go by before the buses could pick us up. I started in the first wave of C and finished in about 33 minutes - so I'm not speedy.

Hey didn't hand out space blankets this year, and I was starting to get chilled. Probably waited 15-ish minutes.

80s astronaut Goofy in Future World

I was in corral C. The lines were huge so I didn't stop for anyone

Oh and what/how was the mini waves for release like within the corrals?

I thought it worked for the first mile. Epcot was still crowded to me...maybe because I started in C.

Armadillo Crossing! We need new signs lol. We had a squirrel issue near Nemo ... he couldn't decide where he wanted to be and was darting back and forth.

Oh and what/how was the mini waves for release like within the corrals?

I thought it worked great. I was in B and when we passed Goofy there was only a scattering of people around us. Didn't have to weave much and would have been able to try for a PR if I had any inclination to do so (and wasn't wearing an insanely hot Eeyore onesie).

Congratulations everyone! I was choking back emotions the entire time. First Disney race under my belt, I'm hooked!! Also, I just realized my time was better than I thought. The timer said 36:06 when I crossed the finish line. I was in the first wave of corral B and started my watch at 6:06 but forgot to stop it until after I got my medal, so I'm estimating my time was 30:06. I'll remember to stop it tomorrow!

Just changed my flight due to "wintery mix" Thank you Southwest for allowing free changes!

Now have to go from 10% packed to fully packed a little faster than I had planned--so. much.to.do. Need hotel, do I need a car? Might as well get an extra day of tickets.....spinning.

Last night I had all the dreams in one--was late, lost my bib number, ran too slow, forgot my shoes....

All the things I was doing at 9pm last night! Good luck and cheers to extra Disney time!

Well, DH and I finished the 5K, and we weren't even last!

Of course DD & DSiL finished 15 minutes before we started, but that meant they were waiting for us at the finish.

Thanks to all of you for the information and encouragement, both directly in answer to my posts and indirectly in answers to others! I've learned a lot from this thread, and DD and I are starting to plan more Disney races together. (DH says he's one-and-done but he'll cheer us on!)

I actually thought it worked very well. It didn't feel as crowded in as many sections of the course as I expected.

Soooo hard to concentrate at work today when everyone is having fun at WDW. I need to focus or I'll never get out of here!

Our unusually hot Central Florida winter is forecasted to turn super cold (but dry, thankfully) for the Sunday marathon--low 40s. This is unsettling for us Floridians. My husband asked me what the daytime high would be for yesterday, Wednesday. I told him "75 degrees," and he replied, "I guess I'll wear my long pants, then."

If anyone is still packing or planning, amp up the throwaway outerwear for Sunday. I recommend gloves, hats, and anything you can spare to donate along the race course. The pre-race walking and standing time will be well over an hour, including quite a while after bag drop. It will be fffffffrrreeeeezzzzing.

Of course, the forecast for the Saturday Half is a completely different challenge--much warmer, mid-60s--but raining, and maybe thunder? Not running that race, but hope everyone who is running the half has a good rainwear strategy!

I'm going to be wrapped up like a burrito in a blanket until its my corrals start time and then I'll toss the blanket to the side.I'm a Floridian and I was freezing in 2015 before the races,especially the half,and I think it was like 10 degrees warmer than its supposed to be for Sunday.
