Marathon Weekend 2017!

So I have a story...

I sent a joking text to my wife saying, "Is it too late to upgrade to the Goofy? I LOVE that marathon medal..."
SECONDS later, she calls me and says, "I thought we should have done the Goofy all along. I don't know why you just wanted to do the Half."

Fast forward about an hour later, we're registered for the Goofy, flights have been changed (Thanks, Southwest!), dining reservations have been shifted, and an extra night has been waitlisted for DVC.

All of which means that I guess we're paying the crazy change fee. :confused3

Okay so the medals are out which got me thinking about race shirts and trying to predict which race will get what color,I thought about it for like 30 seconds and realized that race shirts have gotten a bit stale and predictable. The medals for the most part have a fresh new look and I would like to see RunDisney and Champion step up and give us some new unique designs and colors for the shirts, give us some different shades of colors,or how about just a white one with a nice design, the shirts are very high quality but the colors and designs need to step up.
Maybe go full retro and come out with some sweet sweet tie-dyed running shirts?

Those already exist. http://www.sportsciencewear.com/the-shop/smarter-dyes/

I have tons of shirts and other gear from these guys. I met them at the expo of my first marathon in Richmond in 2005 and have been buying, wearing, and recommending their products ever since. Their shirts are the most comfortable running gear I've ever owned. They also do custom orders, which we had them do for us for Goofy in 2011 and Comrades in 2014. If I can find pictures of those, I'll come back and add them.

ETA: here's our Goofy shirt. It reads

39.3 miles
+ endurance
x heart
goofy

with the Twitter bird & our usernames on the back.

Okay, I'm a sucker. I just ordered a couple to test out... I really like comfortable running shirts.

The "It's a Stretch" ones are the best. Soft yet perform like any other tech shirt.

That is the shirt I wanted, but unfortunately, they have discontinued the "It's a Stretch" line, so they only have odds lots left (and nothing in my size for long sleeve), so I just ordered the "smarter basics" line.

While I'm not one that is big on medals, these medals are a bit of a letdown. The 5K, Kids, Castaway, and Goofy medals looks good, the others I'm not sure about. I'll hold off judgement until we can all see closer images and the exact details for each one.

But I am a little surprised they are being revealed so soon. I expected another month!

Not when I visit the site. The short sleeve stretch are available in grey and light blue.

Right... my point was "they only have odd lots left (and nothing in my size for long sleeve)." I have a lot of short sleeve shirts, so I can't justify buying more, but I need long sleeve shirts (or will in the next month or so) now that things are starting to cool down.

In any case, I contacted them and asked about the stretch long sleeve shirts. They have been very nice and responsive, but they did say they were discontinuing the "stretch" line, so I just ordered a couple of the smarter basic long sleeve shirts.

That might be cool. I used to love those numbers games, BTW.

Not keen on the 1/2 medal either, but the 2 X's roman numeral 10 denotes 20 for the 20th Donald. This may have already been posted but just wanted to add...... my II cents.

ETA...I see it was already posted by a few already....I'll catch up one of these days!

For those that are interested here are some photos of some of the medals I found posted in a Facebook group. They are on display at the Paris half.
