And for the record, sometimes I think they release medal pictures to sell registrations - Dopey and the marathon are still open.

As a cynic I can't believe this wasn't the first thing that crossed my mind. What do you mean rD has ulterior motives when releasing information?

I wish they would also release resort discounts for Marathon Weekend to sell registrations! Booked at rack rate for now, but would love to upgrade!

I tried to take a better screenshot. Donald definitely is not a spinner. I really like that 5K medal, and the full. Dopey is pretty good as well.

The Half medal is definitely the outlier for me. I'll be interested to get a better look at all of them and see what their reasoning is for the design.

Not really a fan of the retro look of the full....it looks exactly like the full marathon medal from disneyland....yes, there was a FULL marathon at disneyland

Hi all ! I'm Robyn I will be running the Goofy Challenge come January. I'm very excited / anxious for it but the excited part of me outweighs the anxious! I just came across this thread yesterday (Sunday) I usually spend my time on this site reading (lurking) on the trip reports BUT wanted to introduce myself over here. I'm running by myself so the more support from fellow runners the better!

You can save some money by booking through undercovertourist.com. About $10 a night below rack rates. Adds up!

It obviously has to do that they need to finish selling it out,there is no doubt about it that these races are not selling like they were a couple of years ago.As far as the medals I'm just glad that they're different,with the exception of Dopey which looks almost identical as the last couple of years,which makes sense as I'm sure it'll be totally different next year for the anniversary.I'm doing the full and luckily its also my favorite medal.I thought this years full medal (2016) was a dud,it looked the same,the medal was too yellow and I've never liked baby blue,the color of the ribbon.The half is a little weird but unique,I wouldnt mind getting one but my second favorite one is the 5K Pluto medal,for what people pay I'm glad they upgraded to an actual medal instead of the medallion.

I agree. I think they did a great job with the 5K medal.

wait, what? You must have missed the last couple of years...these are the dopey medals in order:

sadly I only own one....the 2017 actually is hard to figure out. At first I thought it was Mickey the Sorcerer or something...couldn't make out Dopey in it.

They all are pretty similar. The outer part of the medal is the s the same all of them. Dopey is basically the same on the first two but has changed on the 2016 one and now the 2017 one.

well, they are similar because it is Dopey - you can't change his face. But other than the first two years, the last one is not in any way the same. I'm hoping a better picture comes out at some point that clears it up for me, but as of right now I would never have guessed that was Dopey if I didn't know about the medal.

btw, I still think the Half Marathon will be some kind of spinner or something...there is a distinct line between the two X's which makes me think the medal splits there. (maybe). Intuitively I don't think it would be easy for that design to twist so I'm probably wrong, but still hoping it is something unique and cool.
