Marathon Weekend 2017!

I just realized that April 19th is the day we are flying home from SW Dark Side Weekend. That's going to make early registration a challenge.

I'm actually going to be in the air at noon. :-(
I share your pain...I'll be in the car driving home from Boston at noon on the 19th. Hope there's decent cell wherever we are! Just booked Saratoga Springs for Marathon Weekend, so all that's missing is our race registration :)

I'm taking April 26 off work just to make sure I get registered without any issues.

A little off topic, but can anyone tell me if any of the expo vendors take Disney gift cards? My wife suggested asking for those for holiday gifts and what not to cover the costs of food, etc., but I was wondering if they can be used at the expo, as well. I'm guessing not, but I don't want to assume anything.

I know you can at RunDisney merchandise booths but I'm not sure about other booths.

Just the official runDisney merchandise.

We will actually be flying from Boston to WDW on the 19th for a little post Boston "relaxation". However, we are just running Mickey, so I am not terribly concerned about getting in right off the line.

Just signed up for a 10 miler in April. That should help keep me pushing to up my mileage! Now if it would just warm up a bit...

Hello All:

Question - Does a proof of time need to be submitted at the time you are actually registering for one of the races during Marathon weekend or can you submit a proof at a later date?

I am hoping to sign up for the half marathon in 2017, but have never run an officially timed race that would qualify yet - and probably not be doing so until (a 10K) until early summer.

Thanks in advance for any responses - I've become very inspired by all of you!

You can send one in at a later date but there is a deadline to do so.

Actually, there was a deadline for this year's marathon weekend. From the RunDisney site:
  • If proof of time is not provided by October 6, 2015, data provided is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral.
Still, you have basically 6 months to submit POT from date of registration to deadline.

Yes I said there was a deadline I just didn't remember when it was. :)

Has anyone every submitted one POT at registration, and then updated with a better POT before the deadline? I feel like it would ease my mind to enter some sort of time at registration, but I'm concerned that it could cause an issue if I try to submit a different POT a few months later (closer to the deadline).

I haven't done it under the new system, but I listed a 10k PoT shortly after registration for Marathon Weekend 2016 and then went back about a week before the deadline and updated it with a 1/2 marathon PoT. There weren't any issues with them using the new PoT and I was seeded into corrals based on the updated information. I don't think they even look at what is submitted until they start putting the corrals together after the submission deadline has passed.
