Marathon Weekend 2017!

I'll start with a Roll Tide (attended Alabama), but you guys already knew that so I'll go with:

I am an Army Veteran - 10th Mountain Division - changed my life
I am an IT Director and get to travel a great deal
I am a family man, with an amazing wife and 2 great teen aged boys

I am a very fortunate man.

Two things:
1. I thought of you when I was driving back to Texas - stopped at a truck stop in Alabama to fuel up and I heard for the first time in my life "Roll Tide" used in place of a customary sign-off (like good-bye). Literally, the guy paid for his soda and the cashier gave him his change and instead of saying "Thanks", he said "Roll Tide" and walked out.
2. Thank you for your service for our country. I hope you had a good Veteran's Day!

I can't really think of anything interesting about myself. Running is about the most interesting thing I do and I think that's well-documented here.

I have severe social anxiety. Having simple conversations with people is very difficult for me. I think that's why I like and relate to so many of the outsider songs in the Disney catalog. My favorite is "Part of Your World"; I think partially because it was from a film released during my childhood, but also because I relate to it a little too much. I like too many to name, but I'd give special mention to "Belle" and "Why Should I Worry?" from Oliver and Company.

1. I like to think I'm a Martha Stewart Starter Kit (minus the prison time). I LOVE to cook and entertain - my front door is always unlocked and I'm happiest when my house is crowded and noisy with friends/family/littles. I'm actually cooking for Book Club right now! Citrus salad, Beef Bourguignon, Potato Gratin and Profiteroles are on the menu!
2. I was on a Nickelodeon game show.
3. I think the three-song arc of "Endless Night", "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "He Lives In You" from 'Lion King: The Musical' is pretty much the most-perfect arc of any musical production. If that answer doesn't count, I'll go with "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" - but preferably not from the movie ...
3 things...
1. I'm so jealous
2. Were you able to successfully assemble the Shrine of the Silver Monkey??
3. Did you win a pair of Sketchers or a trip to Space Camp??

Aaaaaand now I want to go back to my childhood.
What a coincidence… me too!
Sweet!...do you have dreams* where they call you and tell you they need you to dive in the meet for them? I do. Apparently I was really, really ready to be done with it by my senior year.

*nightmares

3 things:
1) I'm a professor and love teaching college students, everything is new to them even if it's the same thing for me every year
2) My mom has an Etsy shop selling running costumes (not really about me, but I talked her into it)
3) Favorite song, really musical number, is "That's How You Know" from Enchanted. I'm an ex-New Yorker and loved running in Central Park, where that number is set. And for some reason I cry every time I watch that part of the movie, even though it's an upbeat song. Love Amy Adams also. I'm actually wearing a running costume version of Giselle's curtain dress from that scene in that movie for the Marathon this year so look out for me!

Three things about me:

1) When I was younger, I was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I competed in the Junior Olympics for sparing but lost in the first round.

2) Running has given me my life back. Running and a combination of choices revolving around running has allowed me to lose 100 pounds. It has put me in position to better enjoy my child's life.

3) "Try Everything" from Zootopia at the moment. My daughter loves that song.

I love "Try Everything" too!

What school and subject? I'm a researcher at Wisconsin and one of my favorite things to do is mentor young future scientists.

1. Well, don't be SO jealous.
2. I actually talk about that in an interview I did with SBNation.com a couple of years ago!
3. I talked about that too! You can read the interview here.

Great pick, love that song.

Well... okay, not jealous anymore. I always thought the guards seemed terrifying.

If you'd been on GUTS I REALLY would have been jealous!!

If you'd been on GUTS I REALLY would have been jealous!!

I actually went to try out for Guts and they wouldn't let me because I was too young by three weeks and about four inches too short. Then, about three months later, they called and asked if I wanted to be on this new show (I'd already done the written test and interview portion you had to do for Guts - why? no idea - so they already had me on file) ... I mean, of COURSE I wanted to be on a show!

And all I got was a year's supply of tuna and a gift certificate to Fashion Bug. :(

Actually, what I'm thinking is we get to know each other a little better since we'll be spending 4-7 hours running next to each other. I'm thinking everyone shares three things about themselves, nothing deeply personal (unless you really want to), but maybe a little more than "I have blue eyes." And, just to make sure there's a Disney connection, make your third "fact" your favorite Disney song.
1) I'm a flight controller for the International Space Station at NASA and a 3D Graphics software developer.
2) I'm originally from Europe (Poland) but I moved here at 8 and I love this country. This week I love it even more.
3) I like the Wreck it Ralph song "When can I see you again"....never saw the movie, but saw this vacation video that had it and it was awesome:

Here are my three:

1) I am an avid hiker and backpacker; I have a goal of completing the Appalacian Trail, The Pacific Crest Trail and The Northern Trail in my life time.
2) I am a life long New Orleans Saints Fan.
3) My favorite Disney Song? "The Bare Necessities", of course!

1. I'm a new father. The little guy just turned 5 months and made the cutest little Deadpool for Halloween.

2. I took seven years to earn my four year degree because I couldn't decide on a major. I finally went with computer science.
3. My favorite Disney song, if I have to pick just one is "Sieze the Day" from Newsies.

3. I talked about that too! You can read the interview here.

That interview is a very interesting read. I'm definitely not jealous of your experience.

If you'd been on GUTS I REALLY would have been jealous!!

I totally would've been jealous if she had on Guts. Who wouldn't want to hangout with Mike O'Malley?

1) I'm a pharmacist at a hospital. I work in many areas, but spend most of my days making chemo.
2) I had a meltdown when I turned 29 last year and set a goal to run a 5k...now I'll be running Dopey in eight weeks!
3) Three way tie between "Lets Go Fly a Kite," "Out There," and the Carousel of Progress theme song.

I must admit, I have never had a diving nightmare. However, I only made it through my freshman year in college before giving it up, so no real competing in college for me.

First real workout tonight even if it was a fast walk since surgery was an experience. My first run back is scheduled for Tuesday. We're having a bunch of medical stuff (not me this time, a family member) right now so we'll see how well that goes.

Wow, we have some interesting people on here! Since I only decided a couple of months ago to start running, I feel a little out of place but I will join in the fun!

1. I own a photography business. After 10 years in marketing for the non-profit industry I finally headed the "Tangled" advice to 'Go live my dream' and it's everything I hoped it would be.
2. My husband and I took our honeymoon to Disney 12 years ago and Marathon weekend will be our first trip back just the two of us!! Can't wait to enjoy it without our three little ones (I mean that in a very nice, loving way)
3. Favorite Disney song? Too hard.... I love the ocean music during Finding Nemo. I'm sure it has a name. But it is so calming and beautiful. Fave vocal song is probably "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid. It's too fun to sing at the top of my lungs!
