its a 95% in 5 hours it will sell out by the end of today so I don't think they have to worry about it not filling up, I think A LOT of people are upset with rundisney ever since w&d and the cancellation of events with no word on if anything is replacing them...there are still plenty of people willing to fork out the money for these races but I think that is the reason for a little bit slower sell out rate right now

Obviously its going to sell out today,my point is that after the inaugural year in 2014 some people didn't think it would be as popular as it is today so when registration opened up for the races last year some people were surprised it was a very quick sell out.It does seem like its going to take longer to sell out this year versus last year which is my point that its popularity may have peaked,but of course its still going to be a sell out.But your point of people being angry with Run Disney could also be a factor.

I know I saw the comment parents don't need separate registration to run with the kids...is that true for even an adult not registered for any race...that they can run with their child?

This is applicable to kids races only for those too young to run alone, no registration other than the child's is needed.

Since I began running (@ 5 years ago), I've wanted to run in a Disney event. I've never had anyone to go with me. I had my son at the Dr. today and I received a text from my sole sister who lives 2 states over asking me to sign up for the 2016 Disney Half Marathon. It didn't take me long and now we are both signed up and I cannot wait!!

I have so many questions. (Sorry). My sons have baseball tonight and I don't have a lot of time to read back over threads.

My family usually likes to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter. Has anyone stayed there for race weekends and was it easy to get to/from from there? Or would you suggest another resort?

I've stayed at Riverside twice and French Quarter once for race weekends (Princess once, Wine & Dine twice). Buses were good! I think you'd be fine to stay there.

What do you consider the must buy items?

I'm a bad person to ask about this because I buy ALL OF THE THINGS...

Ok i plumb forgot today was the general public registration day. Glad i did the AP registration for the full. Although the full would not have mattered. Spent time reading all of the last days worth of post. Happy for those that got in on what you wanted.

Since 5k registration closed before @Keels and @Ariel484 decided on the prancercise theme, I guess my options are to either spectate or volunteer so I can see this throwback phenomenon.

(I was born in the late 80s, so I mostly identify with the 90s - bring on the scrunchies, jelly shoes, and slap bracelets for 2018 Dopey/5k! .... not that I'm considering Dopey 2018 )

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective, you can usually watch the race or parts of it on your computer.

We are quickly assembling a group of talented runners for Dopey 2018 and would gladly welcome you to join us. A good time will be had by all. Only 983 days from today!

I was terrified that my cc company wouldn't approve the 5K charge because it was the second charge from active.com within such a short period of time. I was all ready to beg fraud protection to approve the charge (thankfully, the credit card company was okay with the charges).

It happened to me with the 5K...almost died while talking to the Amex girl. Took me more then 10 minutes to fix it.

Alright missed out in entering 5k for the 9 year old.
Have tried all night (in Australia) with travel providers. Any ideas? (Apart from him just joining in and not getting medal- ha ha)

I'm trying to decide where I want to do my post-marathon celebration in the parks. I'm sure it will be at an establishment with cocktails - so first round will be on me!

It's 11pm and Dopey is still at 99%,maybe it won't sell out today!I looked over last years marathon thread and I couldn't find at what time they sold out last year but I did see that at one point during the day last year Dopey was at 96% while the half marathon was only at 76%,those numbers somewhat flipped this year with the half going in only a couple of hours and Dopey still not sold out.Unless Run Disney did something crazy and raised the number of Dopey slots maybe my theory that Dopey hit it's peak is correct.

THIS. Both Acclaim/Run With The Mouse and GET were out of their initial allotment of Dopey bibs by this past weekend.
