Marathon Weekend 2016

I'm not going to be much help here...
I knew I was crazy when I went out running the day after a snowstorm, slipped on ice walking to the park where I like to run, and still ran 3 miles.

I knew I was crazy when I signed up for a 5k run ON MY BIRTHDAY... :tongue:
 
My proof of time race is the day before my birthday, does that count? I would have ran it on my birthday if it fell on that day. But I hate my birthday anyway so to me its no big deal. :-)

speaking of Proof of Time...guess I can go ahead and turn mine in as my race this past weekend was a rough one and ill have to stick with my current PR of 2:04 should still net me a decent enough corral I think...does anyone have that link handy that they can post I know its back in this thread somewhere but thought Id ask...
 

I ran Myrtle Beach Marathon on my birthday. I told everyone I could: runners, spectators, announcers; it was like being a rock star!

Make the most of it. It's your day!

Of course it counts! It was just a funny one for me because I love to travel so last year I went to Spain and then London and the year before I was in Tokyo so to stay home and run 5k just shows I've been bitten by the running bug... well the rundisney bug anyway! :woohoo:

I submitted a 2:02 for the marathon this year & was in G, so unless they change stuff, you'll be in G or H most likely - it wasn't bad at all for crowding. I'm using it again for Dopey (as I doubt I'll runner faster at Disneyland half)
 
Just had my first run in a long time in which it was cool outside (~55). We are in CT for a few family events then on to Boston and NYC for work, so the next few days should offer similarly cool mornings.

I love the summer, but when it comes to my running I like it cool to cold.

We have had low humidity and morning lows between 60-65 the last few mornings. It has been amazing! To bad it will only last for another day or so and then back to Louisiana summer until October. I with you though, bring on the 30's and 40's for running!

Looks like we might be starting together! My current PoT is a 2:03. I've got races coming up on the 19th and 27th of September, but I don't know that I'll be able to substantially improve on that.

I'm in the same boat - my PoT was 2:04. I ran the race in April and submitted the time but thought that I would add another race this summer. My plantars fasciitis put a halt to that plan, so I am just sticking with the 2:04 time submitted.

I stop for so many pictures that my marathon time will likely exceed 4:30 anyway, so I really don't care where I start.

I will most likely be in the same corral. Maybe even a bit worse now that I think of it. I just got a little grouchier. I had an awful run this morning and have been grouchy all day. I just resigned myself to the fact that my injuries will keep me from drastically improving my prior best pace of 8:59 that I ran at ToT. I was going to use that race. But it JUST occurred to me that it has to be a 1/2 marathon for POT, doesn't it? So, unless I have some miracle the day of my race I might even have a worse time. Oh, I am NOT happy right now.

That is kind of where I Figured I would wind up and I'm happy with that don't the corrals get progressively bigger as you go back (as in more people in the later ones), my one big pet peeve is people not being where they should be at the start and clogging up the start of the race, though I figure this will be less of a problem at Disney

Corrals get progressively larger with one or two exceptions,but yeah the first corrals have a few hundred people and by the time you get to N,O and P you're talking about mega corrals of like 1,500-3,000 people.I was in I which seems pretty far back but if you just look at the numbers about 2/3's of the field was behind me in later corrals.

I am fine with meeting some people and putting some faces with the names.


Got in a 13 miler today. Legs felt fine considering my reduced mileage while dealing with plantars fasciitis. My foot seems to be healing, but this run tested that. Just have to see how it feels tomorrow.

That's good news. I have 15 on the schedule tomorrow and I am worried as heck.
