i posted on the trip planning forum first, not knowing you guys were here!
we are planning a family trip to support my sister and aunt while they run the half marathon. neither of them have run before and i wanted to know if there was anything i could do for them to make the day special or help them along.

How nice of you to be thinking about how to support them. You can be a spectator along the way--there will be a book in their packet which shows when the buses run for this. Wear bright shirts and shout their name. You may want to book a massage for after the race at either GF or SSR.

It is such a great experience for everyone.

You are great to try to think of them that way! I think if you are able to find a spot to cheer them along the way it would be great. My DH was able to snap a photo of the "experience" and still made it to greet me as I came over the finish line.

Come with lots of hugs! Check out our marathon/half marathon weekly threads and such. You never know when something might just pop in that would fit into your question.
