MARATHON 2016

Hi guys. My name is Ana and I am new to this "world", and am finding it a bit overwhelming, but I decided to just dive in. My coworker girl friend and I are doing the run. Any other ladies leaving the kids and hubbies behind to do the same?

Yesssss! Well, sorta. My hubby and 2 teen daughters are going down Dec 28 and braving the crazy Christmas/New Years crowds. They will return that Tuesday or Wednesday and my niece is coming down Thursday evening and we will have a girl's weekend and run the Half Saturday morning! I am celebrating my 50th birthday and she is celebrating her 40th! What better way than to run our first Disney Half!!!??

Super cool!!! We are looking to rent DVC points still, but hope to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday and stay till the 12th. My 42nd bday is on the 11th, so whoot whoot for us Capricorns! Also, my friend is just using this as a 40th bday celebration, and it is her 1st marathon.

Wow, that's a lot of trips and marathons. I ran the full in 2009 and have only run a few 1/2 marathons since then. I'm ready for the challenge though. The WDW Marathon was the most fun!

My running friends (both ladies) always leave their kids and husbands behind when they participate in races. At first they used to bring them along but they told me their families distract them from the race events during a time when all they want to do visit the expo, carb load and rest before and in-between races. We now go to races alone and usually get a two bedroom suite (ladies in one room and me in the other) and we have a wonderful time enjoying the race and each others company (we all live in different states). We just completed the Tinkerbell Race Weekend and are looking forward to the next race weekend.
