I have to tell you, when I first read your post I thought:

who would bother making a map when there is sooooo much info available on the web?

BUT

after looking at your creation, I can only say :

To get it to work, I typed in Cape Canaveral at the top and then clicked on "bird's eye view." Then move the map around to see the area.

Even better, I typed in the address of the Radisson to get to the actual street faster. So, if you type in the Radisson address, 8701 Astronaut Boulevard and then "bird's eye" you can see the hotel (blue roof) and the McDonald's (red roof) across the street! Follow Astronaut Blvd. or the ocean down to find your hotel, or the pier! VERY neat!!

1)HERTZ IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE RESIDENCE INN

2)BUDGET IS ABOUT A BLOCK OR SO SOUTH OF THE RADISSON

3)THRIFTY/DOLLAR IS 1 AND 1/4 MILES SOUTH OF THE RADISSON

4) AVIS RENTAL IS ACROSS FROM THRIFTY

5) ENTERPRISE IS 2 BLOCKS SOUTH OF AVIS
All are within 1 and 1/2 miles of each other

I didn't see Comfort inn and Comfort Inn and Suites on here...aren't they in Cocoa Beach ?

We were thinking of staying at one ( is there really 2?) and wondering where they are on the map.

I hope I didn't miss them....it has been know to happen!

Durango's closed about 6 months ago BUT the restaurant is being listed "for rent" so lets see what goes there next - will post as soon as I know

So how would you get from here to your ship, as in the case of dropping off a rental car? And does anyone know if I will be able to pick up a rental car from a WDW resort?

I know that both Hertz and Budget have a free shuttle to the port from their Cape Canaveral location. I'm not sure which of the others do or not. I find it convenient to drop off my family and luggage at the port, then drop off the rental car and ride back to the port on thier shuttle.

There are a few places in/near WDW to pick up cars. Hertz has a desk at Shades of Green resort across the street from the Poly. You need a Military ID to stay there, but Hertz will rent to anyone who walks in - it's an easy walk from the Poly.

I think one company has a location at at the Swan/Dolphin. Others are in or around the Hotel Plaza Blvd near DTD.

On another note, sorry I didn't keep updating the map. I don't get down that way very often. I'm not even sure if I can find the original file I used to make it which I would need to create an update. But I'm glad people have found it useful.

That was my favorite restaurant! I always planned on eating there the night before our cruise.
