Map for BCV?

Thanks for the maps. They were perfect. Now I'm wondering- when I booked today to stay there, Member Services says she would put me down for a water view because that's what I had had at OKW. I asked if a water view was good and she said yes but from looking at the map would I be better off to ask for an Epcot view? The water doesn't look very exciting on that canal.

Babylisa4,
From what I can tell your best daytime view will be of the pool which should also be of the canal. But , there will be views of the canal with out the pool on the other side of that hall. We requested a view of Illuminations because we like to watch it from the room instead of being in Epcot. I read on another post that someone was told there are only 2 rooms with a view like the one in the pictures of the master bedroom. (of the Ecpot Ball and imagination pavillion) So, your chances of getting that are very slim if that is true.
Hope that helps some!

Next trip: BWV May 5-12
then: BCV Sept 15-20
and: BWV Nov 30-Dec 7
Owners at BWV and now BCV!

Interesting how the maps don't show Epcot Resort Blvd. or the parking lots. Others on this board have expressed concern about the potential for road noise on the Epcot side.

I wonder if there are 2 views on the back of the resort. A epcot view and a Illuminations view?

This is fun just speculating, any thoughts anyone?

Have a great week.

Ray

(PS: My guide said there are really only 3 views, Courtyard, Garden, or Water.)

I think that was put there because there is a good amount of tree growth in that area. I know I actually referred to it as a "jungle" at one time when I posted a question asking if anyone had seen the villas lately and if some of that jungle had been cut down. If you have ever been to BC, when you are walking back from Epcot on the right side right before the BC you will see this "jungle". I was hoping that they would cut some of it down or at least trim it back a good amount.

I do also have a question about the last picture in that series with the blue and red marker on it. What does that refer to, any one know?

Hi everyone!

The pictures referred to in the above link are the ones I took on my last trip to WDW. Man, I can't believe they are over 3 months old already. If anyone is in the area, keep those BCV pictures coming!

Anyway, at the time there was a lot of discussion about the location of Epcot Resorts Blvd in relation to the BCV and about the different views that would be available. I started playing around with some new photo editing software, so that's where pictures 25 and 27 come from (Sorry, I never got around to naming most of the pictures:( )

In picture 25, "the jungle" is just as Terry described - an area of dense undergrowth and trees. I'm not sure who used this term first (?Terry S), but I picked it up from someone here. Not a great view if you face this region, but not too bad (and probably quiet - except during Illuminations). Pictures 21 and 22 are taken from the walkway to Epcot, looking through the "jungle". (By the way, the little yellow and purple dots on picture 25 are the locations that the various pictures were taken, with the purple dots representing the older pictures from March 2001).

In picture 27, the (upper floor) rooms with the blue lines in front of them were ones I thought might have views of Future World, while those with the red lines might view WS and Illuminations. Just my best guess, and doesn't account for trees and other vegetation on that side of the building (there are some tall trees that will block some Epcot views). Somebody noted that only 2 rooms would view Spaceship Earth, but from my drive-bys of the building, I thought there would be quite a few rooms that would overlook this area. We have a picture of me on our honeymoon, standing on our 3rd floor balcony in the BC in 1992, and you can clearly see the upper 2/3 of SE, Imagination, and the Land. I would have to think that you will see a lot more from the 4th and 5th floors of the BCV. For reference, our room at that time was in the little part of the BC that "sticks out" toward the BCV.

Hope this was helpful!

Thanks everyone! Those maps are great :)

I think it would be helpful to request "epcot" or "illuminations" view specifically. With the resorts, water view can mean the pool, which I guess is better than the parking lot!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Now all we need is another arial shot, like the early construction shot that was shown in one of the last picture from the DVC newsletter. So, if you happen to be flying over the BCV resort and have a camera.....

There used to be a satellite website that you could go to and find satellite pictures of cities and construction. One view showed the construction of BWV from the satellite camera perspective, it was quite facinating. I don't have the link to that website anymore.

Of course, I'm still waiting for my maiden visit to my new BCV home resort. That will be a big family trip next Christmas, perhaps they will do a little decorating for the holidays. That's when we'll really get to see how the place is laid out and get to experience the magic, new pool, dedicated lobby and theming. I'm hearing the views may not be as bad as everyone has been talking about.

I was just making a reservation today for October and looking into the BCV. The CM told me that there were no "preferred views", everything was the same amount of points and he said the views would either be pool or garden. Just thought I'd pass along this info!
