I have been to Disney several times - but not in almost 10 years - so much has changed! This will be DD (8) and DS (5) first trip an my husband has not been since the early 90's!!!

We are booked for Pop Century mid-April but after the crazy crowd week (thank you school district for a late break!)

1. When do you need to catch the bus to make MK rope drop on 9am opening morning?

2. What is the most fun way to get to Polynesia for the Luau?
Bus to Epcot and Monorail to TC then to Poly
Bus to MK and boat to Poly

3. Does the Main Street Barber shop work with a donate hair charity? My daughter has been begging to cut 9" off and I thought this would be an awesome place to do something special like that.

4. What are your top snacks? We have a DP (table, quick & snack).

5. Do you carry a pen for your signature book? What kind of pen is easiest for the characters?

6. Do you need beach towels for your value resort pool?

7. Are there lifejackets for weak swimmers at Blizzard Beach? Where and how do you get one?

1. Park buses start running at 6:30am. I'd be at the bus stop 1 hour before rope drop.

2. Easiest way to get to the Polynesian is bus to MK, then boat or monorail to the Poly.

3. Don't know.

4. Fresh fruit.

5. A large pen is easier for the gloved characters to handle.

6. Haven't stayed at a value yet, but if there aren't towels at the pool, ask for extras in the room.

I can't answer all of these:

1. That depends. Do you want to watch the show or be in the front of the line for rope drop? This link indicates a 12 - 15 minute travel time from Pop Century to Magic Kingdom. Add in the up to 20 minute wait for the bus, bag check (if you bring a bag), time spent in line, I'd say 7:30am, maybe 8. My family always goes with earlier, just in case.

4. Mickey Ice Cream Bars. Bottles of soda or water. Frozen Chai in Animal Kingdom. Churros in Epcot.

5. The one time we had a signature book, we used the pen that was sold with the book. We got both the books and pens for free when we were Magic Kingdom Family of the Day back in 2006. This link mentions a think sharpie, which I imagine would work, at least for non-face characters.

6. There are towels, as far as I remember.

1. be at the bus stop at 8:00 am.

2. I would take the bus to MK and the boat to the Poly.

3. I'm not sure, but I don't think that they do.

4. There are really great snacks all over the world showcase. And the Dole Whip Float is a favorite.

5. Clickable sharpies are great - just not green. I'm not sure why, but green sharpie is impossible to get out of fabric.

6. You don't need them, but you can bring them if you want.

7. I think so.

For the pool towels at Pop Century - you take your room towels and then call and ask housekeeping for new room towels. There's a card in the room that explains this. So you don't need to bring towels from home.

I think the donating the hair thing is a great idea!

5) retractable ("clickable")black sharpies are my favorite. Fat enough for furry characters to hold, makes a bold signature, no lid to drop, clippy thing on it to clip to your photo book. Bring more than one in case you drop it!
6) POP, and all values, do not provide towels at the pool. You can bring them from your room and request extras from housekeeping. They are smaller than a beach towel and thin. If you like a larger fluffy towel and have room, you may like to have your own.
7) life jackets are available free, not sure exactly where in the water park you get it.

1. When do you need to catch the bus to make MK rope drop on 9am opening morning?

9 am rope drop, you probably want to be at the park by 8:30, so I would say 7:30 is a good time to be at the bus stop.

5. Do you carry a pen for your signature book? What kind of pen is easiest for the characters?

Yes we do. We have found that full sized pens / sharpies are the easiest for the characters to handle. Many of them have furry paws, so handling small pens / markers is a problem for them
