Wow! What a great use of our DVC Points! This property is in a perfect midtown location and the service is excellent. It was a steal at 22 points per night during the week. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

We are staying there in mid December for a few nights after my employer's holiday party in Morristown, NJ. They are paying for the airfare and a hotel room at the Weston for the party, so we decided to extend and spend some time in NYC.

Hi. We are thinking of using our points to stay at the Manhatten. What kind of room do you get? Similar to a one bedroom at disney resorts? We've never been to NY, is the hotel walking distance to most of the tourist attractions? Do you have any pics of your room? Thanks!

You get a 1-bedroom when booking as part of the Concierge Collection. The Manhattan Club website seems to indicate that their 1-bedrooms only have a kitchenette. I don't think there is in-room laundry.

As for location, it's close to Central Park and about 8 blocks or so from Times Square.

Looking at the map, it looks like you might have a view of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade is you got the right room! Even if you don't it will be pretty much right next door!

Just got back yesterday from a couple of nights at the Manhattan Club. We arrived on Sunday and spent an hour relaxing in the Owners Lounge with coffee and cookies. As many other people have reported, we were not able to access to our rooms before 4.00pm. However, we were very lucky and had a suite on the corner of W 56th and 7th so the view from the lounge area and bedroom was of Central Park :cool1:

The elevators were a little slow and that's the worse that I can say about the Manhattan Club. I think BWVbound covered most of the details of the suite (thanks BWVbound, it was really useful when I was researching it). It really was perfect for a family of 4 - our teen boys had their own bathroom, which is always nice. We didn't spend too much time in the suite, there really is too much to do but it was super comfortable when we did.

NARM

We are hoping to go to New Jersey for 1 week. My brother and his family lives there.
Then New York for 1 week in July 2017.

I don't think that Manhattan Club is on the list anymore after the big expose on 60 Minutes.

Darn! I was getting excited about finally visiting DS in NYC. He's a bartender/server at a restaurant in Times Square and I was imagining surprising him there. Do tell-what's this 60 minutes expose? Nosey minds want to know!

IF you book please have in mind the "because we can" fee that the resort charges. It's currently 38.5$ per day

If you want to visit New York then stay at the two Hilton clubs, they are nice too.

Regards.

They significantly oversold the property so that people who own timeshares at the Manhattan Club have a hard time actually staying there. In the meantime, the operator keeps inventory on hand to sell as hotel rooms and trade with people like DVC.

RCI guests are charged the "just because we can" fee -- but we were NOT charged this fee when we booked TMC via DVC's Concierge Collection in 2013.

Maybe the fee wasn't introduced at that time, but it is now

Regards
To be clear: the fee existed then, as now, for RCI inbound exchange guests. Guests arriving via DVC's then-Concierge Collection reciprocal exchange agreement were not charged the fee. Having TMC in DVC's Concierge Collection was (past tense) a great option for DVC owners. Too bad the option has been taken away.
