Hey gang,

I recently received the Manfrotto befree travel tripod as a gift. In addition, I purchased the Manfrotto 323 rc2 adapter. However, I don't know how to attach the adapter to the tripod. Is it even possible?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Did you just get the tripod legs no head?

No, it has a ball joint style head with a connector plate on top. What I'm trying to do is replace the connector plate. I'm beginning to think it's not interchangeable. The connector plate is really firmly attached. I can't make the screw budge.

Its junk. PM me and I'll send you my shipping address to alleviate your frustration! :D

The Befree replaced my super old (as in 20+ yrs old) tripod that I inherited from my dad. You can remove the complete ballhead only, not just the quick release plate that sits on top.

The 323RC2 Adapter is meant to add the RC2 quick release system to a head that doesn't already have an RC2 quick release. The Befree already uses the RC2 system on a specially designed head with notches in it. This allows the legs to fold up flat against the center column for a more compact form factor when you're not using it. Even if you were to somehow replace that mount with a different mount such as the 323, you would be removing the ability of the tripod to completely fold up on itself.

Why did you want to add the 323 adapter?
