We were once again up at 6am as today it was EMH’s at Epcot.
As you can imagine it was very busy, and before today, my annual pass had been playing up, I could get into the Parks fine, but it wouldn’t always let me get a Fastpass. Well today amongst all the on-site guests ~ it wouldn’t let me into the Park (Aaaarrrggghh !!). So I have to go to the Guest Relations outside the Park and wait in line for 20 minutes to get a new AP.
Even though Epcot was busy, there wasn’t the usual New Years Eve crowds that we have seen the previous 2 years, and even after waiting 20 minutes to get a new AP, we were still able to walk on Soarin’ (about a 15 minute wait) and get Fastpasses for it later. We had breakfast in The Land and rode Test Track and Soarin’ again.
Now our plan for today was to stay at Epcot for a couple of hours and then go to Typhoon Lagoon for opening at 10am, so at 9.30am we left Epcot for TL. It was a lovely warm day and I think we stayed till about 1pm. I read a book for a while (as I don’t like the waves at TL) and we went on the lazy river and family rafts.
We went back to the Pop for showers and had a late lunch in the foodcourt.
Around 4.30pm we were back in Epcot. Now we knew there was no way that we’d last till midnight, but we thought it would be fun to see the UK New Year in at the UK Pavilion.
So we started with a Smirnoff Ice and cakes in The Land, we had a wine from a little cabin set up on the way to Mexico, followed by two glasses of wine in Germany. We then had 2 glasses of Asti Martini in Italy and we lost our drinking concentration in the American Adventure as we lined up for New Years hats and blowers.
We finally made it to the Rose and Crown around 6.40pm for a Bacardi and Coke and some Cadbury’s chocolate from the tea shoppe and at 7pm all the Brit’s went barmy with their blowers as we knew it was the New Year back home.
Under normal circumstances, I should be under a table somewhere vowing NEVER to drink this much again, but in WDW I was just incredibly silly and I apologise to anyone who I may have stuck my blower accidently in their ear and drove bonkers that evening (and yes it was still only about 7.15pm at this time).
Anyway we get back on the bus and arrive at the Pop Century where we think we are more than capable of celebrating a bit more. The girls went off to the arcade for a while and then they went back to the room. But Paul & I were still in the party spirit and after 4 Bahama Mamas we zig-zagged our way back to the room.
As you can imagine, I can’t remember much about the time after returning from Epcot, though the girls teased me relentlessly about mum being loud and falling asleep on the floor while she took her make-up off and could only be woken when eldest DD gave her a good kick. I was later informed that we were all asleep by 10.30pm (though I think I fell asleep around 10.15pm on the floor)

Tomorrow ~ Rollercoasters, and it serves you right !!
