Magic Kingdom

MVMCP

On our first morning, while in the food court having breakfast at the Pop Century, I surprised everyone by telling them that tonight we are going to MVMCP and before that we would be having dinner at the Crystal Palace. I can’t believe that I had managed to keep it a secret for so long (I bought the tickets in the Summer).

So we entered about 3.30pm (on our Annual Passes), we had a wander around and went to see Mickey’s Philharmagic, unfortunately it was had been drizzling on and off that afternoon and it was getting a little cool, but that was the only downer. We checked in at the Crystal Palace for our 5.10pm reservation and within 10 minutes we were at our table. We had only been to the CP once before and that was for breakfast, so we weren’t too sure if we’d enjoy it. Well the food was lovely, I had fruit to start with, then I had hand carved turkey with mash and veggies and to finish off I tried about 4 or 5 different desserts which were delicious, one was even made with Bailey’s !! Paul and the girls ate well too.

We saw all the characters, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eyeore and had photos with them.

It appeared that we were one of the last families to be seated as we were not rushed at all and by 6.45pm the place was empty. We then went off to get our wristbands (in the Rose Garden) and then we went to have our photo taken in Tomorrowland (which had arrived home before us). I didn’t think that the Magic Kingdom was that busy (except during the parade), we headed over to Frontierland and had some cocoa and cookies (I didn’t have any room for one – I wonder why ??!!) and we saw Woody and Bullseye and we ran into Jessie too. We rode Big Thunder Mountain, we saw Chip & Dale, rode Stitch’s Great Escape, saw some of the parade and watched the holiday Wishes which was beautiful, unfortunately we were absolutely shattered and had to leave early, but despite the drizzle we’d had a great time

Other Magic Kingdom

When we went to Magic Kingdom we would get the resort bus so we would be there for opening, it was amazing how much you could get done by midday before it got too busy. We would arrive and head straight to Buzz Lightyear (which I only won on once), then on to Stitch’s Great Escape, then brekkie of danishes/cookies/coissants & orange juice. We did Pirates of the Caribbean and in the shop you could get some fab Captain Jack Sparrow T-shirts, which me and the girls did get for Christmas. We did Aladdin’s Magic Carpets, Big Thunder Mountain and thankfully we only once had to endure It’s a Small World (mind you I wish I was there now riding on it, than here) and we also saw Mickey’s Philharmagic a few times. For lunch we had ½ a chicken with mash & veggies or we’d have good old chicken strips with that lovely honey dijon sauce (mmmm)

We still love to go character hunting, and I’m pleased that the girls don’t bother with autograph’s anymore but it’s still nice to see the characters especially Stitch and Goofy. I think we saw Stitch everywhere but we’d still line up for a photo.

Another great day Mandy ~ Thanx for posting.

Lovely piccies as well.

I always try to get to the parks early, it always suprises me some people would rather queue for BTMR for 90 Mins than get out of bed a bit earlier! :flower:

Another great day Mandy - well done you for managing to keep MVMCP a secret for so long. I totally agree about getting to the parks early - it always amazes me that people don't make more of an effort to get there for opening, when you can achieve so much in a few hours. Still, it means the parks are emptier early on for the rest of us so I'm not complaining ;)

Another great report Mandy, another one here for the early park opening, I think we only missed 1 EMH last year. :goodvibes Love the photos as well :cheer2:

We had no problems Nat, I think once we waited 15 minutes, but the rest of the time there were plenty of buses running :)

Hi Mandy loved the trip reports so glad you had such a lovely time.
It's been such a long time since I have replied to a thread I have actually forgotten how to pm !!!! How sad am I ???
Anyway we are hoping to do a weeks cruise next August, yes I know its 20 months away but at least I can say were going next year.
We have always in the past stayed in a villa but we are looking at doing it a bit differently next year.
We are looking at possibly staying onsite at the pop century resort and I would really appreciate your views and advice etc.
Again we generally book everything ourselves but would it work out cheeper or would a T.A be cheeper?
We are looking at doing the cruise at the end of our holiday so are looking to at a pre stay of about 5 days and then using the disney transport to get us from the resort to the ship then from the ship back to the airport, we were figuring on getting shot of the car for the last part figuring on what we would save on the car and parking at the port would give us the xtra pennies to stay on site.
I know that if we use the transport we will miss getting to the port early but figured we will have a week this time so we will have more time to enjoy it.
Anyway sorry to waffle on I'ts just that I would really appreciate another view and any advice.
Thanks and Happy New Year to you all
