Hi all, Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good hotel at Manchester airport. We are flying on the 11th Nov and are travelling down on Sat 10th. We usually stay at the Etrop Grange and have always found it to meet all our requirements. However, this time there are no family rooms available and we are having to look for somewhere else. So, i thought that since i was looking i may as well check out hotels with pools, saunas etc thinking that we could have a dip on the Saturday. I was all ready to book the Marriot until i just read on trip advisor that children are not allowed in the pool after 6pm. Somehow, i dont think this would go down very well at all with our 2 children. :sad2: We dont need parking as we are travelling down by train.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

The Radisson SAS has a pool, though we haven't used it. You can walk there from the Station at Manchester Airport too - just a few minutes along the elevated walkway, and of course to the terminals in the morning.

The Hilton also has a pool - it is just off site but they do run a shuttle.
We have used this and the Radisson but have rebooked with the Radisson due to its location within the airport itself.
It makes life so much easier the next morning when you only have a 5 minute walk to departures.

Hi,

You gotta stay at the Radisson, we stayed there on Wednesday night prior to our flight on Thursday.

The pool was empty and the 3 of us had it to ourselves, we used the sauna and steam room again all to ourselves.

The runway view is fantastic and the included breakfast was just what you need before the flight.... we were 2 mins from check-in which only took 10 mins and were given exit seats due to 6' 2" DS.

Hope this helps with your decision, from the sunshine state, (very foggy at the moment.)

Thanks guys, thats great. Looks like we will be staying at the Radisson then. Just one more thing. We are flying with Virgin so could we check in on-line the night before, and then check in our bags on the morning and then go back to the Radisson for breakfast. We normally have breakfast at the airport but if its included in the price i would rather go back to the hotel and have it there. We are flying at 10.30am so we should have time to do this shouldnt we?
thanks again

We have stayed at the Radisson 3 times and have never managed to find a rate with an included breakfast!! The breakfast is extremely expensive so we have not eaten there! However I have read of people going back after checking in to have breakfast so it is doable.

We are staying at the Radisson too. We have got breakfast included too. What is the earliest time you can check in with Virgin?

We tried to book the hotel ourselves but like others say, it didnt include the breakfast.

Went to TA who contacted the radisson direct and even negotiated a price for us. Got 2 rooms, classed as a family room which should have been £225 for £199 including breakfast. Requested a runway view and as the family rooms are filled first we got the view we wanted.

Worked really well for the VS75 flight, we left the hotel to book in at 6:10, were booked in by 6:20 and returned to hotel for the breakfast. Went through security really quick and were on the plane for 9:35.

The breakfast is really good but if bought seperately around £18, a bit expensive however have done it when we went to New York.

Thanks for that, really informative.:)

Thanks, i suppose if i cant get a deal with breakfast included we can just have it at the airport. £18 each is a little steep  At least we wont have far to walk for check in. I will request a runway view as my DS will love watching the planes and may keep him occupied for a little while. Thanks for all your advice.

We paid £120 for 3 of us including breakfast at the Radisson in May of this year (it was a Saturday night). That rate was directly from the Radisson website.

Tip - don't book a business class room if there are more than 2 of you travelling. We did, but when we arrived, our room was an ordinary room. I realised after a while we were missing some of the advertised extras, and called reception, only to be told that the business class rooms can't accommodate an extra bed. Nice of them to tell us when we checked in! But we saved ourselves £20 by paying for an ordinary room only.
