Hello,

On our trip in July/Aug we are thinking of staying in a hotel at Manchester Airport the evening before we travel (we have an early flight 8.05am) and was wondering if anybody had stayed in one before?

I know the Radisson is actually 'in' the airport with just a quick wonder down the walkways to your terminal but is this really the best hotel for food and drink as we would want this to be the beginning of our holiday.

We stayed at the Britannia.
About 10 mins away from the airport by courtesy bus.
Nice hotel but we had to wait over an hour to get back from the airport at night as the driver was changing shifts! I wasn't a happy bunny.

We used to stay at the Radisson, but the cost went to over £150 for the room and car parking. We now stay at Bewleys were it costs £69 for the room, £30 for parking and £3 pp for transfer to the airport - 5 minute walk, but not with suitcases. We have eaten at the Lancaster Grill in terminal 1 and still found the cost of the hotel, parking and meal is less than the cost of the room and parking at the Radisson.

We've stayed at both the Radisson and the Hilton at the airport. Both very good but the Radisson is definitely the classier (and more expensive) of the two. It's great being able to check your bags in and then go back to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast!

Radisson all the way for me. Yes, it is more expensive for one night but thats what you pay for good rooms, service, food and the ultimate convinience of being in the airport.

We stayed at the Britannia last year and wasn't impressed and wouldn't recommend to anyone. We were in a family room which had somehow crammed 2 double beds into a small room and there was constant noise from the corridor - I guess it is a busy hotel.
The shuttle bus didn't seem very convenient so we paid £20 for a VIP service where you are met at the airport by someone who takes your car and then brings it back to the airport - money well spent.

This year we're at Bewleys which seems the best deal for room & parking. Looks more modern that the Brittania but time will tell

That's a good point actually about the Britannia!
The hotel has a disco and, when we stayed over on a Fri night, there were people who had had little sleep :sad2:
We just went to them as they were cheapest but, as we all know, you get what you pay for! :rolleyes1

Radisson for me too - we have 2 kids (actually 3 now, but 2 the last time we stayed there!) and we asked for non-smoking, adjoining rooms overlooking the runways...the kids were thrilled to bits and spent all evening looking through the windows watching the planes taking off, while me & hubby emptied the mini-bar ;-)
Just a quick trot to the terminal and as someone else said, you can check-in and then wander back for breakfast in the hotel!
We used the gym & pool / saunas too - all great, but the pool was FREEZING cold and surprisingly *ahem* salty......most peculiar.....

We've stayed at #Bewleys & would def stay there again.

we booked through Holiday extras which was cheaper than booking with hotel direct & bus transfers were included in the price
