I distinctly remember when my son James was much younger and would look me straight in the eye and say "Don't be a bad dad!", usually after I had not let him get away with something. I guess that "mean mom" must be the same as "bad dad". Hang in there mom.

Cheer up Ladies!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel! When your kids get in their late teens or 20's ( on their own) You become much nicer and a friend!!!!!
