How is the food there? Is this a place that does the Fantasmic dinner package? Is it worth the $$ to do that? How flexible are they in asking for certain items to be left out such as peppers or onions)? How is the Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake?

We went there in July '03 and had a wonderful time. There was a total of 9 of us (4 adults, 4 kids and 1 teen) and everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. The service was great and fast. As far as leaving certain item out of a dish I've never been to a place in WDW that was not accommodating.

We have eaten at Mama Melrose once on each of our last 8 trips and are making a special trip to MGM on our 1 park day on our next trip, just for dinner there. Obviously we like it. ;)
We have done the Fantasmic Dinner Package a couple times there. If you dont mind a lot of food, I think its worth it. They are very accomodating. We have been able to substitute Caesar Salad for the mixed greens. We also asked to have the pepperoni flatbread minus the peppers and onions(it was excellent, BTW).
Our favorites are the 4 cheese and pepperoni flatbreads, chicken parm, penne alla vodka, and the bread with dipping sauce they give you. Unfortunately we havent tried that cake.

This is my favorite meal everytime but unfortunately:I didnt care for the cake and I am a chocolate lover......Sorry!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

To offer a differing viewpoint, we don't find it all that great. We like the atmosphere, but we've found the food lacking. Not really "Italian" by our definition at all.

The Fastamic DP is worth it in our judgement, but we really prefer the Brown Derby. Other opinions will vary, but that's been our experience.

::MickeyMo It's supposed to be Italian with a California twist. We've eaten there quite a few times. I think my boyfriend enjoys it more than I do. I usually get the chicken parm there. Never had a problem with it and the flatbread is pretty yummy. ::MinnieMo

We ate there on our last visit and were underwhelmed. We had heard so many good things about this restaurant that I guess we had high expectations. The food was OK and the service could have been better. We felt that the portions were somewhat small for the price charged.

::MickeyMo Yes. Whenever I heard things, I never get my hopes up so that way I don't set myself up for disappointment. Maybe you went on a bad day. Whenever I've eaten there, I've never been able to finish the portions. Sometimes I even wished I could bring it to the room for another day - that's how much I'd have left. As for service, that could be any restaurant at any time. I've heard people complain about service at Tony's, but it's always been good for us. (Request Mark Anthony at Tony's - he was so awesome!) ::MinnieMo

We really like MM's, never had a bad meal in the couple dozen times we've dined there!

They are generally VERY flexible with leaving out ingredients :)

This resturant is nice, but just not worth the money. I believe you could find other nice meals for less $$.

After visiting WDW numerous times w/o going to MM, we tried it last November. We were also underwhelmed at the food and service. Thought it was a bit pricey for such small portions.

We went to mm's just for the Fantasmic dinner a few years ago and found that the food was good (7/10). The only problem we found was the location. The restaurant is at the far back side of the park and Fantasmic is at the front. We were running late and had to hustle to the restaurant and to the show. After a long day of fun in the sun, we were a little tired and we would not eat there and do the show again. Besides, every seat in the house is good at fantasmic, and the one they save for you is no better than the rest.
