How does Mama Melrose's rate? I've only ever eaten at Primetime and the Brown Derby and I have loved each. But with the Brown Derby taking up two TS credits, we are foregoing it this time in favor of CA Grill or Citricos.

I've read some good things about Mama's. Now, I'd like to hear from some veterans.

Hi!!

I'm not really sure what you mean about veterans, but I can answer your question.

I ate at Mama Melrose in November 2005. We went there for lunch and I was disappointed that they didn't have the Chicken Parmesean on the lunch menu. (I must have looked on the dinner menu on mistake.) Well I told the waitress and she had the chef make a plate of it for me and for my grandmother- and it was so delicious! Everybody in our party loved our food, and they had excellent bread. We were too stuffed to eat dessert, because the portions were sooo huge!

We are eating there again, with the Fantasmic package in September.

I hope you have a magical trip!!! :)

I love MM!! We have eaten there on the Fantasmic pkg twice and will return in August. I had the steak and my husband had some pasta dish and both were excellent. The pizza was really good too as well as the salad and bread. If you are on the dining plan you should get the pkg and not have to arrive for Fantasmic too early.

We've eaten here three times -- twice for dinner, once for lunch. The entire family liked it very, very much each time.
The food is not great -- but very enjoyable. And we like the atmosphere. We always say it's like a break from the Mickey and Minnie craziness (which we love, of course, but maybe not quite 24/7!). It's like a little neighborhood Italian restaurant -- lots of brickwork inside. Good solid place, very comfortable -- hate reading bad reviews about this place!

is the package for fantasmic a set meal or can you choose from the menu?

We dine at Mama Melrose every trip most often for a quiet lunch.

Kevin and Dori are both excellent servers and we consider it a bonus when we are able to have either wait on us. :thumbsup2

We've really enjoyed lunches at Mama Melrose's. It's low-key and compared to many of the restaurants, I found it reasonably priced and very tasty.

You didn't ask, but I found the much lauded Calif. Grill to be very loud and over-hyped. I only ate there once, so it's not based on much experience. But I don't think I'll be going back.

It's italian food but not your typical italian it has a california twist to it.

If your love basic italian food you'll find this very different. I find it spicy. Not hot, but spicy, sometimes too spicy. Lot's and lot's of oregano. Which I find can be very overpowering.

After 9 visits to Mama Melrose in the past 10 years, I think I'm a veteran. ;) We love it! It is our only must do park restaurant and one we return to every trip.

Sme of our favorites are the 4 cheese flat bread, chicken parm, penne alla vodka, and Caser Salad. The only disappintment I have had was when I had my heart (stomach) set on a certain meal and when we arrived the menu had changed and they no longer had it. We used to love the chicken broccoli & pasta dish.

Our service has always been very good. Once our waitress brought my friend the wrong meal, but my friend decided to keep it and was glad she did because she loved it. ;)

It's not a set meal, but there is a set menu that you can choose from. We went last year and absolutely loved it! There are plenty of choices on the Fantasmic Dinner Package menu...try the flat bread, very very good! :)

Same here, BCV! Get there at opening (I think 11:00), am seated immediately (I'm a solo traveler), and have a most quiet, relaxing lunch of the cheese flatbread and a bellini (or three).
