Mama Melrose or Tony's?

I know most people are going to say MM is much better than Tony's. (At least that's the feeling I get from all my readings....) but here's the scooop. We'll just have one day set aside for DHS and probably 2 1/2 days set for MK. (We have a 2 and 3 yr old...) Most of our TS meals are going to be buffet/character meals b/c for us it's just easier with toddlers (picky, impatient, etc). But I'm trying to weave in a few non-buffets as well. (Kona is one....) So far I don't have anything pressing I care to try at DHS so I'm thinking maybe just go to Mama Melrose for lunch there.

Is it really THAT much better than Tonys? Time-wise, we have more days in MK so it may fit better there but if the food ir horrible, then we'll skip it. Menu and pricing seems very similar at both so is there something at one or the other that sets it above the other??

I never ate at Mama Melrose but we really liked Tony's. We both got the chicken parm and thought it was good.

We ate at MM in 07 and loved it. In 08 we went back to MM and were not impressed. Not really bad, just didn't love it like we did the last time. A few days later we went to Tony's and absolutely loved it. The chicken parm was very good. (I can't say great.... I have an Italian mother, so most Italian food pales in comparison to hers! But seriously..the portion was huge and really really good!!!) The calamari was also very yummy!!!

We're probably in the minority but we preferred Tony's to MM. Neither was notable but Tony's just seemed to have better food. And we liked the atmosphere better.

I like them both but I think Tony's is better. But if I was picking a place in DHS I would go with Prime Time.

We've been to both for lunch and for dinner. We prefer Tony's for lunch over dinner; but we prefer Mama Melrose for either lunch or dinner over Tony's. We find we are not as rushed at MM's and the service to us is better.

We enjoy both! Tony's house salad is pretty good and we have always enjoyed our experiences there. Mama Melrose's food is really good but I've had a couple of lacking in service experiences. It's Disney though, I think you'll be happy with whatever you choose!

WOW such a mix of reviews - which is great to hear about! I'm leaning towards Tony's since it may fit into our schedule better and I seem to like their lunch menu more. (Not to mention the theme - my DD loves Lady and the Tramp!) But, hmm, maybe I'll have to try BOTH!
