Mama Melrose / Brown Derby

Mama Melrose or Brown Derby. Trying to decide where to eat at Hollywood Studios....PLEASE help me!!!

We like Mamma Melrose and don't miss it on our trips. I know there are some here that don't like it but like Tony's in MK, personally, I really don't like Tony's but like Mamma Melrose. They have a wood fired oven they cook their flat breads in and some other dishes.

I have always had good service there and for our likes anyhow, the food is good.

I personally like Brown Derby. It's one of my favorite restaurants that I never miss when I go. It is definitely more expensive though. I usually go for lunch and pay out of pocket. The Cobb Salad is world famous and the grapefruit cake is excellent. The whole atmosphere is cool especially if you are into classic movies. I don't think I would use 2 credits for it if you are on the dining plan. There is nothing wrong with Mama Melrose though. If you are looking for cheaper or Italian, it's fine.

I love Mama Melrose....have never had a bad meal or bad experience there...and I go there every year.

We like Mama Melrose a lot...we've gone the last four years in a row. We did Brown Derby several years ago and were not impressed. We had terrible, no, we had non-existent service; the food was medicore at best and my husband thought the grapefruit cake was the most disgusting thing he ever ate.

Another fan of Mama Melrose here. We've never had a bad meal there.

And another fan of Brown Derby! That and the California Grill are our two must-do's during any trp. They have a fun menu, our service has always been top-notch, desserts are yummy, and I think it seems more private during a busy day than Mama Melrose - gives you time to relax a bit.
