Have I read somewhere that there is a way that you can make your own rubber stamps? Use some kind of rubber foam & possibly use a sizzix die cutter to cut out stamps (alphabet)? Thanks for any replys! :flower:

You can do this with fun foam. You can stack extra layers to make it as thick as you want it. Computer mouse pads work great too.

I was watching the Scrapbooking show on DIY network last week & they did this. She used the fun foam for some, but she also used a Dr Sholl's foot pad for one! She did use several layers to make sure the mount didn't mess up the final stamp.

She did use the Sizzix to cut the foam dies. She also used clear acrylic mounts, which I thought were terrific! You can see right through so that you can position it correctly. There should be directions at: http://www.diynet.com
HTH!

OK - I just went digging around to find the page. (I had a terrible time finding things when I first went to their site.)

Anyway, try this link: http://www.diynet.com/diy/cr_rubber_stamping/article/0,2025,DIY_13775_2271184,00.html
I'd forgotten - she also used foam meat trays from the grocery store! All kinds of ideas...

ETA: Well, after reading the rest of the way through that page I saw that it was for creating stamps - including potato stamps - not the episode/project I was talking about.

This link has the instructions for scrapbooking. On the 3rd page with the peach - the self-adhesive foam she used on the show was the Dr Sholl's thing.

Good luck!

Make sure you share what you come up with! I would love to see some of the stamps you make.
