I had a wonderful discussion this week about doing little things for others for no other reason than just to make a difference in another person's life. No need for egos to be stroked or a standing ovation, just doing something intentionally to help somebody else. We sometime think that the big acts or contributions that make a splash are what changes that world but often a friendly act or a few pennies can make someone very happy and, in turn, make this world a little bit better.
Over the past few years, I have some routines in my daily life that I have committed to do every chance I get. Little things like putting my change in the McDonals's Ronald McDonald House collection box, giving a sincere "Thank You" to any sales person, letting someone with a few items go ahead of me at the grocery store, etc....
Sometimes I need to remind myself to actually "see" the world around me instead of rushing thru it at light speed with no peripheral vision or thought of those around me.
What do you do to brighten our world or make a stranger's day a little better?
