Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

Wait a sec...I thought that was the current spiel on BTMRR! What did they change it to??? Is it just plain now? :sad2: I WILL be listening closely in a week to it when we are at MK!

I still haven't gotten my Mickey Monitor...I want it! Maybe today.

Great update! I'm glad you got your DME stuff. I've had my AP since Oct and still haven't gotten a Mickey Mon in the mail :( I read the one that they send me through email but I haven't gotten one in snail mail yet :( Oh well!!

I think the quote is something like "Howdy Partners, please keep your hands and arms inside the train and remain seated at all times. If any of you folks are wearing hats or glasses, best remove them cuz this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness" I could be wrong but that may be the new one haha. Did you check youtube??

That's so weird you haven't gotten a Mickey Monitor yet. :confused3

haha, I think that's one of the newer versions.

Hang on to them hats and glasses cuz this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Thanks Youtube!

A little closer to the one I'm talking about but still not it. :confused3:rotfl:

Hurray for ME mail! Not much longer now :goodvibes

Is that the new spiel you're talking about, Sarah? BTMRR's safety warning is definitely one of my favorite quotes of WDW (I tried looking for the old one and I can't find it either).

I know, I can't wait much longer! I'm ready to go now. :yay:

Yeah, the one in that video is one of the newer versions.

OK, I think I'm just confusing everyone now when I say old vs. new. LOL. When I say old, I mean old old, like several years ago. The thing that I think is confusing is that they are so similar in what they say but there are some differences. Like, at the end, the guy seems way too excited whereas in the old one it's more like what TinkerbellLuvr7 posted (the guy's voice drops off at the end). BUT, that's still not the one I'm talking about which makes me think there have been a couple variations of it.

I did do a google search and did come across this posting of the old spiel:
WDW Version- Howdy folks, please keep your hands and arms inside the train, and remain seated at all times. Hang onto to them personal belongings now, especially them hats and glasses, cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness. (1980-2002)

Ahhh, I wish I could just find an audio clip of the old one to compare it and so everybody doesn't think I'm nuts!

But don't worry Brook, it is not plain now! LOL.

Hee hee, I just got my Mickey Monitor too! I just love reading them.

I love getting the ME stuff in the mail. You guys are getting so close now!!

I'll be working on my TR to try to get to the Superbowl and seeing Aaron Rodgers in the parade. Nice picture in your sig though!

Did you see the part in the video of the parade where someone tossed him a ball and it got tossed back? There was a kid right next to me, and it was him who tossed the ball to him. That close! :scared1: I love him, I'm not gonna lie.

Ahhhh! Makes sense about the spiel! How strange that they would change it just slightly...:confused3 I wonder why...? Who knows!

I love BTMR! Good quote!

Yay for getting the ME tags. I just got my Mickey Monitor too and realized I never got the last issue!

You know the trip is getting close when the ME express tags show up. I'm so jealous!

We got our ME tags the other day too! Except there were only 2 of them, they forgot my dads:sad2: Hopefully we'll get that straightened out...Can't believe our trips are so close now!:woohoo:

I've gotten the last 2 Mickey Monitor's and I am not an AP Holder.
I'm just hoping when I check in at the Yacht Club, they don't ask
for my AP. I booked with a pin code, which reminds me that I am going to print it off, so there won't be any confusion.

No DME tags.

34 days to go!!! Less than 5 weeks now!

This past week I received some Disney mail. First up was my AP newsletter, the Mickey Monitor!

100_6842.jpg

As you can probably tell by the cover the feature was on the Flower and Garden Festival. There was an interesting story about creating the topiaries and then they even had a list of some of character topiaries that you can find at Epcot. It might be fun to take along and see if we can find them all!

And then the other day we got our Magical Express packet!!!

100_6844.jpg

I had been waiting for it all week because I know it usually comes when we're about 40 days away. hehe It's a sure sign our trip is coming up soon. Woo hoo!! :goodvibes

So with only 5 weeks left now, I'm going to try to do a Quote of the Week regularly to finish off the countdown. This one comes from one of my favorite attractions, although it's not the same spiel anymore. :sad2: I have to say it's kind of a bummer, I liked the old one better. I tried to find a video of it on youtube but had no luck. Anyway, the quote comes from the Thunder Mountain safety spiel. It used to go something like this:

"Howdy folks, please keep your hands and arms inside the train and remain seated at all times. Hold on to your personal belongings now, especially those hats and glasses, cuz this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

I admit I had to do a search to get the wording, though I don't remember it being that grammatically correct. (I thought it was something like hang on to those personal belongings now, especially them hats and glasses) Does anybody else remember the old spiel? :confused3
I'm so excited that our ME stuff came! It's getting so close - only 32 days!! :cool1:

BTW, I just discovered something else that we should do at EPCOT if we have time. I just saw a post on the Fantasyland Expansion thread where someone gave details about the new Fairies meet and greet, which is in Future World. It seems like it's set up pretty well, because they have a sign where it says what time specific fairies are there. For most of the day, Tink and Terence meet together, and then Vidia and Rosetta together at other times. But there's also a time to meet just Tink or just Terence. If it's still like that in March and the line isn't too long, I want to see Terence, because I wanted to meet him last January but was disappointed when he wasn't there.

Hey girl! You are getting SO close!! :woohoo:

We just got our Mickey Monitor this past week. It made me sad seeing the toparies and stuff about the F&G Festival. I can't believe it's already been a year almost since our Spring Break trip! :sad1:

No Mickey Monitor for us this time!! :confused3

The Fairies M&G sounds really cute, Henry would love meeting Tink!

Hey I haven't gotten a Mickey Monitor either.  I want one!

Woo hoo for DME tags! Geez I know a lot of people going in March. Sooo wish I could pull off going too...

I love getting the ME stuff too. It makes everything seem so official and no matter how many times we go it's exciting. :goodvibes:cool1:

I loved your Super Bowl update. Can't wait for the parade stuff!

I did see the kid in the video who tossed him a ball. So exciting for that boy. I'm not gonna lie either, I love him too!

Ahhhh! Makes sense about the spiel! How strange that they would change it just slightly...:confused3 I wonder why...? Who knows!

Yeah, I don't know, maybe they just wanted to update it a little.

I love BTMR! Good quote!

Yay for getting the ME tags. I just got my Mickey Monitor too and realized I never got the last issue!

I think this is going to be my last Mickey Monitor (atleast for a while) :sad2:. Since our next planned trip isn't until December it doesn't make sense to renew it. Unless my sister gets into the college program...

You know the trip is getting close when the ME express tags show up. I'm so jealous!

hehe, I think we all get jealous of other people's trips.

We got our ME tags the other day too! Except there were only 2 of them, they forgot my dads:sad2: Hopefully we'll get that straightened out...Can't believe our trips are so close now!:woohoo:

Yay for getting your ME stuff too. Well, except that they forgot your dad's. I know, it's hard to believe it's almost March already.

LOL, that is really funny you have been getting them but some people who do have APs aren't getting them.

Any ME stuff yet?

29 days now!

Ohhh yes, we should meet the fairies too. I'd like to met Silvermist and Fawn since those are the 2 I didn't meet. But Terrence and Vidia would be cool too. I also read somewhere (I think in my Mickey Monitor) that at night the garden is going to have lights! It sounds so cute.

Hey girl! You are getting SO close!! :woohoo:

Awww...any trips in the works now?

No Mickey Monitor for us this time!! :confused3

The Fairies M&G sounds really cute, Henry would love meeting Tink!

Really? That stinks!

I met the fairies on our trip in Dec. '08, which was shortly after they first started doing the meet and greets. I loved them!

Hey I haven't gotten a Mickey Monitor either.  I want one!

Woo hoo for DME tags! Geez I know a lot of people going in March. Sooo wish I could pull off going too...

LOL. Weird so many people haven't gotten one.

haha, that's how I felt in December when everyone was going! :rotfl:

Look at my ticker. It says one month. Or 4 weeks. Just 28 days until we are back in Disney World!!!:banana:

We still don't have any real set-in-stone plans, surprise surprise but my sister was asking me this morning when I was going post my Hollywood Studios plans. What I should've said was why don't you do it (that way we can kind of do a joint TR) but I wasn't thinking. LOL. But, we are getting pretty close so I figure it's about time to post some more park plans. Here we go...as they say at the beginning of a classic DHS attraction, lights, camera....ACTION!

DHS EMH
3/28 PM EMH 7-10 pm

As of right now, I'm thinking we'll probably go to Hollywood Studios Monday morning as that seems to be our next tradition after going to the MK on our first morning. There are four absolute must-dos before we do anything else:

:wizard: Toy Story Mania...nothing says "welcome to DHS" like racing with hundreds of other park goers to get to the ride. LOL. Hopefully we'll be able to ride first then get a fastpass.

:wizard: Tower of Terror...LOVE IT.

:wizard: Rock 'n Roller Coaster...might have to go for single riders depending on how long the wait is.

:wizard: The American Idol Experience...it is important for us to do both a regular show and a finale show. Meaning we'll be going back some night for that. We're kind of obsessed with AIE.

After those are out of the way, we can do some of the other attractions. I definitely want to do the Great Movie Ride since we skipped it in August (maybe I'll ask for the western scene? I hear you can do that...). We'll also make sure to visit the Animation Academy, another obsession of mine. :thumbsup2 And we can't forget about the Backlot Tour! I'm hoping to squeeze in one of the shows too.

Hollywood Studios also has a couple new attractions that we're interested in seeing too. One of them is the new Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun parade. It seems really cool because it features a lot of the Pixar characters...so very similar to Block Party Bash but I think they added some more, like the Up characters. We'll have to check it out. The other new one is the Disney Channel Rocks! show, which replaced the High School Musical pep rallies. It's supposed to have songs from stuff like Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, etc. I watched a video of it on youtube shortly after it came out and I actually didn't like it as much as the HSM show. But I still want to see it.

The last I saw, Fantasmic is only showing 3 nights while we're there: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I'm thinking maybe we could go Sunday night. But we'll see.

So that's what I got. To my sister, feel free to add anything! :) Actually, anybody feel free to add anything. What are your favorites at DHS?

One last thing as kind of a side note. I was on twitter this morning and saw a tweet about some new stills being released for a brand-new Toy Story short! It's called "Hawaiian Vacation" and it's supposed to be shown before Cars 2 when that hits theaters. The two pictures look super adorable. Now I think I'll have to go see Cars 2 (which I probably would anyway, haha). Here's a link to one of the stories about it if you're interested:

Toy Story "Hawaiian Vacation"

We did the stampde to TSM both mornings and racked up 4 rides in 2 days! I thought the Pixar Parade was great. Kadence thought the Disney Channel Rocks was awesome, she was dancing along and singing! Didn't hit Annimation Class, but hoping to in Sept!

great update and yay for under a month!!!!

You can request at GMR. Just go up to the CM at the door and ask if the cowboy scene is running. They will say yes or no. If they say yes, they will probably tell you to ask the ride loader (the person that stands at the double doors in the movie room) and you will either be put on the cowboy car or you will have to wait until the next group of cars come and they will put you on the next one :) My friend wanted to do it in Oct and it worked out great! We did it again in Dec and it worked great too! I would assume that March + Spring Break = crowds, they should be running it!

PS.. I finally got my Mickey Mail from the AP!!! I'm going to post pics in my update tomorrow. Did you check out the new resort mugs, I'm in love!

Sounds like great times at DHS! Do you watch any of the other shows besides AIE? I still haven't seen LMA. It always seems to show too late in the day.

Can't believe how close your trip is:goodvibes I love when the Mickey Mail arrives...it says to me "yup, you're really going".!!

Your DHS favorites are my favorites! I also love Muppets 3-D. Where are you guys going to eat that day?

That is too funny because we are going on the Disney Dream on 3/26 to celebrate my 30 birthday. My actually birthday is April 16 but it was too close to Easter and flights were alot of money..
Have a great trip and Happy Birthday!!!
