Hi Kimmy!! I am so glad you found me.

Yay!! Another Tracy and Bill report!! And I don't have to read six millions posts and 40,000 pages to catch up!!
This is gonna be good, I can tell. :: popcorn::

Hi Cathy! 40,000 pages :lmao:. That cracked me up. I was very lucky to have as many replies as I did, great people :goodvibes.

I just KNEW you wouldn't be able to resist!!!

On board for the duration,

Hi Kathy , I just couldn't take it anymore :lmao:. I am so glad you are here. Thanks again for helping me along with the first PTR/TR, I never would have done it without you.

On to the next installment!

Waiting for more!

I am an obsessive planner. I need an AA type of program for help for it. OTPA (Obsessive Trip Planners Anonymous) would be good thing to be in or start
hmm_smiley.gif
. Like I need to tackle another task :sad2: .

Back to the PTR, OMG it was only 97 days until the trip when we booked it on March 1st, yes I had kept this too myself, not telling a soul on the DISboards. Can you believe I didn’t tell all of you? I can’t either, it was SOOOOO hard not to, but after the little “we are going, NO we aren’t” earlier in the year, I thought I should really just shut up until we decided there was no turning back.

Is Bill insane? How would I be able to make decent ADR’s this close to the trip? I know 97 days seems like a long time, but when I could have made the ADR’s 83 days before that I was in a panic
shocked-smiley-9456.gif
.

We went back and forth about pricing:

- room only to go cheaper and buy food as we go
- the vacation package with dining we always get
- Annual Pass with dining option

Now you can book the AP and not have to pay for a base ticket to get the dining :woohoo:. This was Bill’s opening to get the Annual Pass he has always wanted. I have dug in my heels, kicked, screamed, and cried saying we did NOT need an AP living in Southern Illinois. I knew if we got one this would be Bill’s way of saying “we already have an AP, lets go back to WDW” over and over again. It will seriously be cheaper moving to Florida by the time he got done.

I have a little notebook that I put all my price quotes in. It has a picture of the castle on it so when I get freaked about money I look at it and it brainwashes me back into Disney Fuzzy Math (DFM) mode
ed1.gif
. The AP option was decided upon
smiley_faint.gif
. I knew I would regret this, I just knew it, but like Bill says we only live once.

Don’t congratulate us yet (start the ominous music) - Someone was trying to tell us something.

Problems with this plan started to happen. We are not wealthy by any means, having 3 trips planned was really stressing me out
Dumb.gif
. I debate back and forth about the cruise constantly. Money, Ace, other issues, money, you get the idea. I had already booked the room in Nashville through Hotwire. They had a shuttle to the airport, but it isn’t handicap accessible. They have park and fly, but would not let me just give them extra money to park the van there. (I hate driving around airports). I had many phone calls and emails about this, but they just didn’t want to work with me :confused3. There were conflicting stories as to whether we could have late check out because our flight wasn’t until 4:30pm and I needed to help Bill with his needs after the fan club breakfast and before the plane. I kept thinking “no big deal” we will work through all that.

Then we found out some devastating news, well devastating news to us. Ace’s boarding facility was closing, that is right closing permanently
sob.gif
. I am a big baby I guess, but when I found that out I wanted to cry. That is the only place besides being boarded at the vet’s office that he has ever been. I called to inquire to see if this horrible rumor was correct, it was. We decided to take him in to play with the other puppies before it closed and I talked to the owner, I was practically in tears when I told her how much we appreciated her taking care of our furbaby while we went on our Disney adventures. She did say her mom would be taking a select few boardings at the facilities at her home, that made us feel a little bit better. We actually let Ace stay all night on March 29th there, one last time at the boarders and mommy and daddy went out that night. They closed on March 31st.

Lastly, Bill’s ankle started hurting again with a vengeance :headache:. The entire time I have known him I have only seen him take pain meds right before bed. Now he needed to take Advil when he would get home from work and I would do the massages and range of motion before work, after work, and at bedtime. He said it felt like we were being told June was not the time to go. We believe things happen for a reason, even if you don’t know the reason at the time.

We cancelled the trip, added one more day to the November trip making it 13 days/12 nights, and went on with life. Then some good things started to happen. People were starting to see Bill’s potential at work, talking to him more, and a co-worker said he wished Bill could continue after the internship. Bill then presented the website he is building for the business and people were impressed
clapingsmiley.gif
. He was asked to go to a City Council meeting with some co-workers. His boss came into Bill’s office and asked him if he would like to attend the Annual Disability Rights/Independent Living Conference at the end of April. He will be attending advocacy and consumer workshops. I will be attending with him. On the last night of the conference Josh Blue, will be performing. He won a season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He has Cerebral Palsy. We can’t wait to see him.

The next great thing that happened was something I posted at the end of our last trip report, but will repost:

“Bill's internship is up mid-May. His boss talked to him and stated she wanted him to stay at least until June 30th. He works for a state funded government agency. She said they will see from there what happens with their budget. This has had Bill smiling from ear to ear ever since he heard the news, he says at least they see his potential.

The ankle surgery will be put off until at least July 1st. We will still go to Disney in November, but not for 13 days if the job continues.”

This was the reason all the things went wrong about the June trip, we were really not meant to go then. We see that now. Bill’s surgery is scheduled for July 2nd. I will be planning 2 itineraries: one for the 13 day trip if he doesn’t continue with the job and an shorter trip if he does. How fun will that be for me
scared-1.gif
? So now it looks like I have you up to date with what is going on here. Now how am I going to keep you entertained for 7 more months
thinking.gif
?

Next installment: Some planning issues and questions for the group!!

I am sure you will keep entertained for the next 7 months.

sorry about the June trip. Hope his surgery helps him and still hope his internship goes to a job.

Are you still going to Nashville in June for the Breakfast then visting with the in-law, just not the Disney part?

Why can't you go for 13 days in November if Bill gets the job? Can't he make that a condition of employment since the plans were made prior? He should at least try. Is the cruise part still on?

Sorry so many questions...I only got like 5 hours of sleep last night.

I think you'd have plenty of company there. :rolleyes1

It will seriously be cheaper moving to Florida by the time he got done.

Great idea! :thumbsup2

Then we found out some devastating news, well devastating news to us. Ace’s boarding facility was closing, that is right closing permanently

Sorry to hear this! I know what a big part of planning trips this is.

We believe things happen for a reason, even if you don’t know the reason at the time.

I totally agree - good for you for picking up on all the signals and listening to them. Even though it is hard sometimes.

Can't wait to find out how this all works out! :)

Yay!!! A new PTR!! I'm so glad you decided to write one! I'm along for the ride!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

That's a lot of changes!

I hope Bill's surgery is successful and he makes a speedy recovery.

Wow. A lot to deal with, Tracy. But things are unfolding as they should.
Maybe little Ace will love it much better at the Mother's place. Nice to know he was one of a select few. You gotta know they like him......
Hopefully things work out for Bill just like he wants them to.
You are both in my thoughts. Hopefully the surgery will be quick and the recovery painless.

Wow Tracy you've got alot going on with this trip! What's the recovery time, etc for Bill's surgery? I'm excited to be along for the ride for this planning too!

Wow, following along and I"m glad I found you.

I hope you weren't to upset that I moved your TR to the completed boards.

Waiting for more!

Hi Hedy!! You asked and you received :rotfl2:.

I am sure you will keep entertained for the next 7 months.

sorry about the June trip. Hope his surgery helps him and still hope his internship goes to a job.

Hi Scott, 7 months sounds so far away, thank goodness for the DIS. I see that "free dining" promotion and want to switch :rotfl:, but I would be dying in the heat I think.

Are you still going to Nashville in June for the Breakfast then visting with the in-law, just not the Disney part?

Hi Heidi, ask all the questions you want. Yes, we are still going to Nashville in June for the chat club breakfast, we are going to have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe (to remind us of Disney trips gone by). We will not be going to Gatlinburg, TN at that time. We will be spending Christmas in the mountains with them :cloud9:. We see them about once a month, they live in Indiana, this house is a vacation home for them.

Bill said he wanted to cut the November trip some because he will be so grateful for the opportunity he doesn't want anything messing it up. We will see what happens when the time comes. As of right now the cruise is still on, we debate back and forth all the time. Then I see Kimmy and retiredkid's TR's and want to go, so who knows?

I totally agree - good for you for picking up on all the signals and listening to them. Even though it is hard sometimes.

Hi Michelle, we know things will work themselves out, even if it was hard to come to that decision . I can't wait to find out how it work out too popcorn::.

Hi Amy-

Thanks for joining us.

Hi Jennifer. Yes, many changes and I am sure there will be more. Thank you for the well wishes.

Hi Cathy. I hope to have Ace stay there in November. Although right now we are looking for places here in town. I hope the things will be quick too, he is in so much pain :sad1: I just hope this helps.

Wow Tracy you've got alot going on with this trip! What's the recovery time, etc for Bill's surgery? I'm excited to be along for the ride for this planning too!

Hi Monica!! The recovery time will vary depending on what the surgeon does. He is releasing at least one tendon, possibly two and reattaching one. There will be at least 6 incisions. He will have a cast. I will take pictures if anyone wants me to :rotfl:.

Wow, following along and I"m glad I found you.
I hope you weren't to upset that I moved your TR to the completed boards.

Hi Mari, :welcome:!! I was devastated
smiley_tantrum.gif
that you sent my TR to the completed trips board. Then I got a little upset
tantrum4.gif
, then I calmed down because I have this PTR and a loooooooong time to post on the DIS until our trip :thumbsup2.

7 months will fly by.......

If you have a Bible, read Romans 8:28. If speaks to what's been happening to you.....to a tee....:thumbsup2

Tracy

Great PTR. I've finished reading your TR, and I'm ready for
more!!! Keep up the great work:yay:

Oops, sorry, but it is much better thinking about an upcoming trip. I think I asked on the old TR,
would you make an ADR for the day you go to Epcot for Wine and Food Fest. We will be there all day Sunday and I don't know if I should or shouldn't.
