Making new ticket a priority of being used over an old ticket?

Probably worded that strangely, but anyway.
Two years ago my Dad took the extended family to Disney and I have a non expiration ticket on my name, still with 5 days left. Going to Disney with my family of 4 in Nov and already bought our tickets through UCT. I haven't attached them to MDE yet, but now I'm wondering how to do make sure that the tickets I bought are used before the non expiration ticket?
I know we had to do something in the past, but it's been some years and I'm blanking on what it was.

Visit guest services before entering a park and they will prioritize your tickets. You can do this outside any theme park or at Guest Services in Disney Springs.

Alternatively, if there is a long line at guest services, just get in line to go into the park. Once you get to the tap area, DO NOT TAP IN, but tell the person that you need to do this. They will raise their hand, and somebody will come over and be able to do it quickly right there with an iPad.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort, the concierge has always done this for me when I asked. I would also double check after you've tapped in and just make sure it used the right one.

Also, if you have some people on your MDE profile that you are not travelling with on this trip and you control their profile, you can transfer the old ticket to their profile. Then ad the new ticket to your profile. Once your trip is over, you can then transfer the old ticket back to yourself. I learned that trick on a trip this year. I had some after 3pm convention tickets and also regular full day tickets. I wanted to make sure when I scanned in it used the correct ticket. I did this trick and it worked like a charm. This was thanks to some tips from other Disboards members.

I'm not sure if that would work on a partially used ticket though?

OP, just want to make sure you actually have non-expiring tickets where each single day has no expiration date and you can use over multiple visits? I know they stopped selling those in 2013 and that's why I ask. 2 years ago I believe they were still selling tickets without an expiration date but they had to be used 14 days after you first entered a park.

No you can't reassign a partially used ticket. I know because I have some. What I've done is make up a fictional person on my mde to be ME! Then I assign that new ticket to fictional ME and use the actual ticket to get in the park and use to activate my fps. Too many horror stories on priorities not done right and I'm not wasting my precious vacation time fixing someone else's mistake. My way works every time no problems.

Oops, missed that part about being partially used. Sorry about that. Disregard my post. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Definitely a non expiration ticket.

Definitely a non expiration ticket. My dad used to buy and hoard them, he also says you can bet on 2 things, death and Disney raising ticket prices.

I have three of those left but only the water park features - such a good deal we bought a few from UCT after they were discontinued. At this point we only have water park features left on ours but I still keep an eye on them.

So I would go ahead and link your new tickets and go about your FP+.

Then - honestly in your situation - if it were me ... I would take the time to stop in guest relations inside the park each and every time you enter and don't want that ticket used.

Yes it may take some time but you don't have to do it first thing in the morning but at some point during the day take that time and make sure the correct ticket was used. Think of the $ that ticket is worth and the time it will take to make sure it doesn't get used?

Awesome! I was worried when you said it was from 2 years ago! 😊

Even if the line isn't long at guest services, if the lines aren't long at the entrance, do this. At MK on 2/15 and we started waiting line for guest services line which was super long and someone was walking through the line asking what people needed and when I told them, they said to go directly to the entrance line and then just explain that the CM needed to get someone from guest services to assist before you scanned your band.

Followed this procedure with no issues. The guest services CM who rearranged the priority of my tickets thanked me greatly for doing this before scanning in- he said it is much harder to fix once the wrong ticket has been scanned for entrance.

Enjoy!
