Making Good on a Very Merry Promise! COMPLETE!

Oh my poor, Nicole. I know how your feeling
Don't worry your imaginary Dis friends will still be here when you are feeling better.

Hi Nicole.

Get some rest and we will be here when you are ready:goodvibes

UNCLE JOHN SAYS:

NICOLE UPDATE HERE!

I spoke to Nicole today, she is doing Okay!! Surgery went fine. She has a cast and is on crutches.....she said it is slow going....She is on some heavy meds...

To be honest she sounded rather GOOFEY!!! HA.....:lmao:

She wanted me to tell everyone here "HI" :yay:

She will try to make it to the computer soon......:thumbsup2

thanks for the update Uncle John! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

I'm alive!

Barely!

As Uncle John said... I am on some heavy pain meds! It's not as fun as it sounds though. Thank you all for your well wishes ~ please forgive me for not quoting you all individually ~ I really do appreciate it more than you could know!

It'll be awhile before I can sit here at the computer for any length of time... I don't have a laptop and it's hard to sit comfortably at this desk. Plus if you even knew what level of concentration it is taking me to form these words you would be laughing hysterically.

Slur while you read and maybe you'll get it!

"See" you all again soon... now I must sleep.

:goodvibes

Hey love! Glad you are doing okay. I willl await your return patiently. Take your time and recover well! Just rest.

I :rotfl2: when you told us to slur the words and we'd truly understand how you are talking. Silly!

UNCLE JOHN SAYS:

OK you have milked this ankle thing long enough!!! GET UP!!!:thumbsup2

BTW, I can say that to her, I'm family!!LOL... She knows her other BIL would say the same thing to her.....LOL:lmao:

It would help you to use your fingers........

Lots of us have been there - we know it takes a long time to start feeling like yourself after surgery. Hope you're sleeping off those drugs and you're not feeling too bad.

:sad1: :scared: :crazy2:  :faint:

That probably covers my whole week and a half since the slice and dice.

Pain killers are not my friends. :sad2:

I think I've seen the worst of it and hope to be back to my dis-addicted, posting-crazy self very soon.

I hope you all have only a few pages on your TR's for me to read! I personally think there should have been a moratorium on all posting until I am better! :snooty:

:lmao: At least I still have a sense of humor!

Thanks for keeping my report warm and for checking on me! :goodvibes

We missed you :lovestruc but it gave me a chance to get caught up on your TR! If you feel like reading more, there are quite a few updates on mine and later today comes the exciting one!:

I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope the surgery worked. I have rhuemotoid arthritis so I have lots of ankle and knee problems; unfortunately, surgery won't do anything for me. :sad2: Get some rest and we can't wait to hear more!

Thanks Orangie! I'm all caught up on your TR! :thumbsup2

:cool1: Feelin' good today! I'm playing catch up on all of your TR's and hope to have an update here very soon! Thanks for hanging in there while I recover ya'll!

YEAH Nicole. So glad to hear you are feeling better.
Can't wait for the update.

Hey Laura! Yes, I'll be getting over to your TR soon! I'm glad you came back!

Gosh I soooo hope this surgery worked because if I've been through this for nothing... well, my surgeon may want to relocate... that's all I'm sayin'!

YEAH Nicole. So glad to hear you are feeling better.
Can't wait for the update.

Thanks! I am feeling better! I think I dare to say I am finally on the mend.
Now, lets see how many pages I have... oh, I mean GET to read on your TR! ;)

UPDATE HERE!!!

Wed., Nov. 28 ~ Sea World!

A year or so after Tom and were married we went to Sea World in Ohio. Tom had originally wanted to be a marine biologist but decided at some point that he also wanted to make a lot of money so that career option was out. Anyway, he has a real passion for aquatic life, sharks especially, so we went to Sea World. I fell in love with Shamu! I wanted to get in there and swim with that whale! Then we took Abby to see Shamu when she was 3 and she loved it too! And ever since we took all the kids to Shedd’s Aquarium in Chicago we have all shared a love for ocean creatures. :fish: Naturally, talk of a trip to Orlando led to us spending a day at Sea World.

Since we had been out late at the party the night before we had no plans to set the alarm for Wednesday morning! The kids managed to sleep in even though Tom and I didn’t.

We got to Sea World at 10:30. We parked and had to walk into the park. The kids were asking where the tram was?!?

Here are some shots right inside the park.

The holiday decorations here were in shades of blue, green and purple, keeping with the water theme. I don’t think you can see it in the pictures but they used shells and starfish for decorations. It was pretty! Here is their Christmas tree:

We grabbed a times guide and saw that the whale and dolphin show was just about to begin. We went straight there. We sat way up in the stands so these pictures are not as close as I’d like but I’ll show them so you can get the idea.

This is one of the whales in the show.

And some dolphins.

IMG_0971.jpg

This show has all kinds of cool things in it that I did not expect! There were people diving off of high dives, acrobats, and a lot of birds! It was really beautiful! It all went along to a story and I was very impressed.

This is one of the acrobats dressed as a bird.

This one is of some other people in the cast diving.

IMG_0976.jpg

I have to admit… this show made me teary eyed! I got all choked up it was so beautiful!

When that was over we headed to the stingray exhibit. We went to visit Gramma for spring break last year and went to a little aquarium in Tarpon Springs and you could touch these little sting rays and feed them and my kids loved that! So we wanted to check them out here too. Turns out Sea World isn’t messing around and they have big ones! But the kids knew just what to do and they weren’t afraid at all. Here is Owen petting one of them.

IMG_0985.jpg

The one thing I didn’t like too much about this exhibit was that they sell you little fish to feed the stingrays and since it is outside that attracts birds. Lots of birds. And they are all flying around your heads and stuff. It’s not that I don’t like birds! See I even took a picture of this guy.

IMG_0984.jpg

It’s just that ~ well I saw "The Birds" when I was little and maybe it scarred me just a little!

From the stingrays we went to the dolphin cove. We got in a long line to buy disgusting little fish to feed them and not a moment too soon either! They closed the line shortly after we got there.

So this is how it works. They give you a little white tray with nasty dead fish in it. You are instructed to keep the white tray hidden from the dolphins. They say it is because they don’t want the dolphins to learn that is where the fish come from. Trust me, the dolphins already know! They tell you that so that you don’t put your tray up there and make a dolphin leave another family and come to yours ~ especially if you don’t have fish left! That just wouldn’t be fair! Unfortunately there were several people not following the rules even though there were staff members all over the place telling them over and over not to do it! It made me kinda mad because it limited the amount of time the dolphins spent in front of us ~ since we followed the rules. But all 3 of the kids did get to touch them and feed them several fish. So no worries I suppose. Here are some pictures we snapped there.

After that we went around to the opposite side of the pool where you can watch the dolphins from below. I got really annoyed here because I was trying to take a picture of the kids looking into the tank and people would walk up and stand right in front of me! Hello! Holding a camera in the air here!!! Geezz…. We weren’t in Disney anymore! (J/K I know it happens there too!) Here is a shot I did manage to get.

IMG_0992.jpg

We took a short break after that… here are the kids kicking back. “Look like you love each other!”

IMG_0993.jpg

After a quick recheck of the map, we headed to the aquarium. See how busy it was at this park!

IMG_0995.jpg

Here is a very oceany looking topiary!

IMG_0996.jpg

The aquarium is actually underneath the water ride there… I can’t remember what it’s called ~ just think Splash Mtn. Oh wait, I think it is Journey to Atlantis! Anyway... we didn't ride it. "I don't care for wet underwear" was becoming a mantra on this vacation!

So, the aquarium! It was cool! Inside there is a place that is kind of like a gazebo and the floor is glass and there is an aquarium underneath with fishies! Here is Evan checking them out!

IMG_0997.jpg

Then when you looked up…

IMG_0998.jpg

Yep, there's fishies up there too! Very cool!

After we checked out the gift shop for a few we went to check out the penguins! We love penguins! Who doesn’t? First up are the Emperor Penguins. This guy was standing at attention just for me to take his picture, I am sure of it!

IMG_1004.jpg

Then we saw the little ones… what are they called? Puffins? Can’t remember… but they are cute!

IMG_1009.jpg

Next up is the Shark Encounter! On the walk over there I was getting more and more uncomfortable. My ankle was really killing me. I noticed it more than I had at all so far on the trip! I think it was the lack of magic! ::yes:: So… do you think I made it any farther? Did they have to carry me back to the car? Did we leave and not see Shamu?!?! Stay tuned! ;)

I love Sea World! We went there last year. We also fed the dolphins. Enjoyed your update and pics. Sea World will be on the list for next fall for us.

Welcome back! Great installment! :thumbsup2

SeaWorld sounds lovely, but the birds at the stingray thing....um, ew! I'm not a fan of birds. Only penguins - they don't fly! Birds are nice to look at from a distance, but the minute they come close to me, I just sort of freak! :scared1:

Can't wait to hear about Shamu... you do see him, right? popcorn::

Sara

Great update love!!

Sea world looks like a blast!!

I have not been there since I was little.

love all the pics

I am guess you stay another hr, but then it gets to be too much and your dh has to carry you back to car:rotfl2:

Great update:goodvibes Love SeaWorld, and Blue Horizons made me teary eyed too:laughing: I love your SW pictures. I bet the kids loved feeding the dolphins and rays. Which was their favorite?

Hope you got to see Believe and your ankle didn't get worse:scared:

Looking forward to the next update:)

HEY! That Sea World you speak of in Ohio, was pretty close to where I live! Too bad it's not there anymore:sad2:
Great update. I have not been to the Orlando Sea World, we were going to do Dolphin Cove when I will be there in April, but booked another cruise instead. Maybe next year. Your pictures are great, I love the ones of the kids petting the dolphin, so cute. I'm with Sara with the birds, they are not my friends. I would have been freakin out!:scared:

I hope you got to see Shamu, I miss him, I was OBSESSED with him when I was younger.

Great update - glad you are feelng better!

Seaworld looks great - we went about five years ago and I was impressed! I would have freaked out with the birds also - love to watch them but don't like them too close!
