Making Gift Baskets from Trader Joe's..what should I include?

When I do baskets the Pasta & Sauces go over really well. Now those candy cane joe joes I'm gonna have to get some of those.

Went today to get some ideas for this. Not sure what I will do yet, but I did find some great baskets. I found them at the Family Christian Stores (had to look for something for church). This weekend, they are having a great sale. They have really nice basket, with liners that say "give us this day our daily bread". They were $5. Go to www.familychristian.com and see if there is a store near you.

I am going to put in the multigrain baking mix, orgnanic pure maple syrup and the gold coins for each kid in the family. I am doing 5 baskets and 4 of the families have only 2 kids. The coins are $1.99 each pouch, but it is a LOT of them, gold and silver...very nice!

Not sure what else to add. I can add a couple more things to it. Any ideas? Not too concerned about doing a theme at all really. I know the pancake mix and syrup will be used and the kids will love the coins. Maybe a pasta and sauce, and a dessert mix, like the brownies. That way I have covered a couple breakfasts, a dinner and a dessert and a treat for the kids!

I've done breakfast gift baskets which included the chocolate pancake mix, organic maple syrup, muffin mix, fresh fruit, and fresh fruit juices.

It wasn't cheap, though. lol :)

Many themes could be done. This never crossed my mind, but is a great idea!!! Yet another reason I love the DIS.

Some of my favorites - Peanut Butter filled Pretzels, Candy Cane Jo-Jos, sweet and savory granola bars, dried cherries (great for mixing into chocolate chip cookies), carrot ginger soup (really any soup in a box is great).

Their kitchen hand soap is awesome, lavender dryer bags.

Unfortunately many of my favorites are in the cheese or frozen food section. The raspberry/brie appetizer is awesome!

I used to do this for the refering Docs at the Cardio office I managed. One year I did Coffee theme including grinder, coffee beans, biscotti and a bottle of Baileys. One year I did a steak theme. Using a cutting board as my base I got bar b que utencils, Sauses and a good bottle of red wine to go with Omaha steaks. I would look for containers at Gordmans, Kohls, for decorative sleds and serving trays.

TJ's also has great sliced mangos in a glass jar. I can't have most raw fruits as the I'm allegic to the acids/enzymes in raw fruits. I can have canned/jarred or cooked fruits as the canning process heats them slightly enough so I can eat them.

I always load up on the jars of mangos when I go. Maybe do up a basket for Mango Chicken?

I'm glad someone recommended the raspberries & brie. I saw that the last time in the store & didn't know whether to get it. :)

I love trader joe's they have a great selection of things to choose from.

Start by deciding budget and theme.

I've done baskets with them I purchased baskets at christmas tree shop and filled them with goods from trader joes.

I've done japanese themed basket with Dry noodles, bottle sauces, wasabi snacks and a bottle of saki.

Greek- stuffed grape leaves, olive oil, olives, tapanede and crackers and greek wine.

Italian - dry pasta, bottled sauces, crackers, panetone, italian wine.

Spanish - bottled Mojito sauce, black beans, rice, plantain chips, bottled mango lime juice.

I can go on and on hehe but I've also done mexican themed, pet baskets, toiletries, cleaning products, bread baskets and cheese boards or just wines with the little liquor cakes for dinner parties.

Good luck I'm sure who ever is on the receiving end will be very happy
