Making day by day reservations

I'm out of practice making DVC reservations (we skipped this year--gasp ). I want to make ressies day by day for a summer trip Aug 19. Do I call Jan. 19 or 20th? The 20th is a Saturday, does MS still close all weekend? (Sorry, I said I was out of practice!) Also, do they open at 7 or 8? Thanks in advance for any help or tips you can give!!!

melk, you can't start booking until the date of checkout so you can't call until the 20th. Tell them to keep the ressie opened because you'll be calling day to day to book.

MS is open on Saturdays 1:00PM-5:00PM.

Thanks Disney Ron! I was way off with the hours (I think I'm having flashbacks of frantically calling for reservations to the Cinderella breakfast early in the a.m.).

We're going to be there too starting Aug 19. I wasn't going to call for day by day ressies, but with competition - maybe I should.

Where are you planning on staying? We're looking at OKW or SSR - so I didn't figure I had to worry about availability for a 2BD. We're looking at staying 10 days. (went for duration over location this trip)

Now, I just have to decide which of the two to stay at. We've had a GV at OKW several (OK, 5) years ago, but I've never stepped foot on SSR property.

You don't need to worry about a 2 bedroom at OKW or SSR that time of year.

Also, dvcmember.com has an area that shows you the farthest out you can make ressies. If you are in doubt, log in there and check.

No, I wouldn't do day by day reservations for a 2-br either. I'm trying to get an OKW Grand villa. We're going with family and we need the room, plus I'm excited to stay in one after seeing the pictures. After our extended family leaves we'll pack up and head over to BWV or VWL, not sure yet which, but I'm not doing day by day ressies for that portion.

Cool. We had a GV in 2001 for a family of 10 get together. It was wonderful. And roomy enough that we never felt crowded. We didn't spend much time there - which I felt was rather unfortunate. But we had a great time all the same.
