Making changes to room reservation?

My understanding is that once a reservation is made, you cannot change the guests without essentially cancelling and rebooking the reservation (is that true?)

Is that also true if we want to reduce the number of guests? If that's doable, is it something that can be done online or would it need to be done via guest services?

I'm not 100% certain but we have changed names on our reservation two different times and never had a problem.... All you have to do is call or have your TA call and change it from what I understand. I do know that your not able to change names on flights since we learned that the hard way.

If you booked through Disney, names can be changed/deleted (with the exception of the lead name). If you booked through a third party (Orbitz, Travelocity, etc), my guess is you would have to cancel/rebook, but I'm not positive as I've never booked through any of those. If the lead guest needs to be changed, you will have to cancel and rebook (even if you booked direct through Disney).

If you booked through Disney, just call them and make the changes. I have added and taken away people. If its through a TA contact your TA and let them know of your changes. If you booked through 3rd party start by calling their customer service and seeing what they can do.

This is the way I understand it to work.
