Making changes to my reservation

Hi everyone! This my be in the wrong thread and I am sorry if it is but....

I booked in December for free dining in September, I was wondering if I called to change my resort would I still get free dining or would that void it or something?

You can, but it depends on if there is availability with the FD PIN at that resort.

The FD offer may not apply to that resort. Also, there is a limited number of rooms they allocate to the participating resorts. Even if that resort participates w/ that discount, they may have all the rooms booked under that discount already. You never know until you try, though. There's always Disney magic floating around out there. I'd give them a call and see. Good luck! I hope you get the resort you want.

Do call and try. We booked a FD BB one year and had to switch weeks they did it with no problem. Good luck!

I just called and tried to change my free dining from ASM to POFQ and was told No, I can't do that. He said the free dining promotion was over so I can't switch. I am sure I have done this in the past.

If there is still availability under the free dining promo at the resort you want to switch to, you should be able to change resorts .

I just called and tried to change my free dining from ASM to POFQ and was told No, I can't do that. He said the free dining promotion was over so I can't switch. I am sure I have done this in the past.

I would call back and check again. The fact that the booking window for free dining has passed shouldn't matter.....there just has to be availability at POFQ under free dining in order for you to switch. If you call back and are told it can't be done, ask to speak with someone in Guest Services; alot of times Guest Services has to check availability and make changes to a ressie after a promo has ended .

well you might try calling back and getting another CM, sometimes you get one who doesn't know how to do what you want and says you can't do it...then you call back and the next CM has no problem doing it.

But, it could be that there are no additional rooms at POFQ allotted for the old Free Dining promo...if they set aside 50 rooms(or whatever number they set aside per promo) and all were booked you would be told no if you try to change. So you might be prepared to try a different moderate resort if that's an option for you. I would think if there is any mod room available, they would be willing to let you do this, because even with the Free Dining, it is still an upgrade (and more money) to them since the diff in price between value & mod can be substantial.

Now, I can say for sure that it is possible to make changes on those booked-in-December Free Dining rooms, because I just did last week. We have 2 rooms booked at POFQ on that promo in early September and I needed to add a day due to better prices/schedule on airlines if we travel a day earlier than we'd booked. Disney added a night (on Labor Day weekend, no less) with no issues whatsoever...kept the Free Dining and everything.

I just called again, less than 30 minutes later. The new CM said absolutely I can upgrade to POFQ, if they had a room available.
He said he had to ask his supervisor for the code that was used at the time I booked. He said we can switch, and we would now have TABLE service, instead of quick service. I asked to keep quick service and he said he can't do that, it has to be table service. (that was a deal breaker, we only wanted QS.) I mentioned that moderate now comes with QS, and he said with the particular code he was using, we could not trade down. He first said we could use table for QS, and then he came back and said No, we can't.

I am so tired of the CM's not knowing what they can and cannot do.
