This will be our first trip as DVC members and I'm just wondering ... when I make our adrs (in a couple days) using the 180+10 rule, does it make a difference if I go directly to the Disney site or do I have to link to it through the DVC members site? If it doesn't matter, then is one way better or faster than the other?

ADR's are a Disney product and they are made on the Disney site no matter how you get there.

It probably doesn't matter which system you use, because it hasn't been working at the 180 day mark recently. I tried it last month at our 180 day mark using the Disney website (MDE). The calendar highlighted every day of our stay, but would not let me book anything beyond 180 days. I ended up calling WDW-DINE and they were able to make all of the reservations.

Good luck! Let us know if it works for you. And . . . Welcome Home!!

I just booked our 180+10 on the Disney website. When I picked a date more than 180 days out, it asked me to link my resort confirmation, even though it already shows on my reservations page. I did have to call though to book a Fantasmic package though.

That's good to hear. It wasn't working at our 180 day mark last month, even though our resort reservation shows up on the MDE website. It would only let me add at exactly 180 days every day. I called WDW-DINE to get CRT, SOA, Chef M and BOG. Our other reservations were not really critical.

The site didn't work for us on 2/19. We could only book day 180. The next ten days were highlighted after I linked the reservation but still couldn't book. I had to call at 7am. I don't know if this is the norm or not, but I had to sit on hold for 65 minutes too. Fortunately I had nothing to do, but I don't see myself ever sitting on hold that long for anything again.

With the in reliability of the websites lately, I would call to be sure to get got ADRs that I want (or more likely to get them). :-)

I am not sure if it makes a difference, but I made my reservations on my iPad using the old Disney site. If anyone has an iPad, you might want to try that to see if it works for you too.
