Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

Okay...I guess it helps if I change my ticker. Due to snow days, we had to move things back 1 week. Our check in at WLV is 6/7. On 6/12, we move to BWV. The CM let me schedule through the 12th...but no further :confused3 . I'm thinking of calling back..maybe I was too honest. She had my resort confirmation, though, so I don't know how I could get around it. Did everyone else have conf #'s? and still get the 90+? We have booked through DVC. Would this make a difference?

So far we have:

50's PT - dinner
BBB @ the Castle/CRT - breakfast
Boma - dinner
O'Hana - dinner
WCC - dinner
Tutto Italia - dinner

Really dreading my call in this Sunday.

AHHHH!!!!!!

The two stretches of 30 minutes of waiting on hold wasn't so bad, but not getting my early Tusker House ADR has made me a tiny bit sad. :sad1:

My plan is so real to me that I keep thinking I can't have fun without that breakfast! Maybe I need a break from the planning. :rotfl:

:sad2: I just spent 20 min. on the phone making a June dinner ADR at CRT. The CM couldn't find our resort res# in the system, and when I mentioned that CRT is 180 days out, not 90, he switched systems and got us a reservation. Good thing I wasn't calling at 7 AM for a Chef Mickey's breakfast or they would have all been gone!!

Apparently (if this CM is to be believed) they have one computer system for the 180-day reservations, and another for 90+10, which is why he couldn't find our res# the first time. This is the dumbest system upgrade I have ever seen.

I will not be surprised that when/if they manage to get these systems merged into one, a lot of reservations will get lost in the shuffle.

I thought CRT was joining all the other restaurants in the 90 day reservations system? Did they change it back to 180 again?

You can make CRT through 6/19. Today they are taking ADR's for check ins of June 7 and earlier for everything else. In a couple of weeks everything will be on the same 90 days only schedule.

I called at exactly 6 a.m. central time this morning. I waited about 10 minutes only to be told they had to transfer me to someone else. The next transfer took 1 hour and 40 minutes, after 2 hours on hold and talking with a CM I finally had all of my reservations, not the times I wanted though! It was extremely frustrating, then I was late to work!

Then I guess waiting over an hour is the choice you make.

Of course, it is my choice, and I don't understand what point you are trying to make. We want to eat at specific restaurants, and I stayed on hold so that I could get reservations for those restaurants. The point that most of us are making is that it is absurd we have to be on hold for an hour or two for the privilege of spending our money to eat at Disney World. And, yes, that also is my choice. The other choice would be to eat all of our meals at counter service, and that is not an acceptable choice. Have you tried to get into a restaurant during the summer when you didn't have a reservation?

I seriously don't get what is going on. In past years, I've been able to make all my ADRs for an entire trip in under 30 min, including wait time. What the heck has Disney changed to create these 1-2 hours wait time backlogs? It's just insane and totally unreasonable to expect people to wait like this.

I don't see why that should make any difference. As many of us have mentioned, We have been able to make our ADRs at 90+10 from the first day of our first ressie. My CM was aware that my first ressie was just for one night, POFQ, then moving to SSR for6 nights. She got my first confirmation number, and we booked the whole trip. I would call back if I were you and you have time. Good luck!:)

After a difficult experience at first (3 different calls, Feb 28 and Mar 1 -hold times 20 - 60 minutes each...only to realize that I was 91 days out...I was one of those people who didn't quite "get" Disney's recording):

  • My travel agent called back on Day 90 - Mar 2 - and made 5 ADR's for me...do not know how long it took.
  • A few days later, I called back (Sat 3/7 @ 9:30 AM) and was pleasantly surprised with a 15 minute hold time and no problem making 3 other ADR's and cancelling one, total call time (including hold and some chit-chat) 40 minutes. :yay: I'd been prepared for a long haul and was actually in the middle of something (on speakerphone) when the agent picked up and started talking!!
We got all of our choices on the days/times we asked for - Chef Mickey's, LeCellier, SciFi, Tusker House breakfast, etc. Perhaps it helps that there are only two of us and that we prefer lunch menus over dinner? It did seem as if the Disney agent could not "see" the ADR's previously made by my travel agent while we were talking (?toggling between two screens/systems?) and making the new ADR's. However, she did catch that my son's peanut allergy was not listed on one of those ADR's and added that, for which I was very grateful.

Got the 1st CM and the transfer to the "new system" 3 minutes in.

Called right @ 6:00am local time and a CM answered within 3 minutes :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

BUT then had to transfer me to another CM and have now been waiting 28 minutes so far........:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Not bad so far but the music is driving me batty!

Has anyone heard anything more about the online system, if and when it will be up and running. I read what all of you have gone through, and gosh it sure sounds like a pain. This will be my first year making ressies, and it sounds like a nightmare. I sure hope they get everything up and running before april or I'll be in the same boat.:boat:

Just got off the phone with a VERY pleasant CM and was able to get all of our ADR's within 10 minutes of the time we wanted!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Was on hold for about 35 minutes. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Now I can go back to bed! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

party: Whew! Time to celebrate....the ADR's are done!

I called right at 7am, was on hold about 35 minutes and then spent about 30 minutes making 9 ressies. The CM (Diana Jo) was great! I got everything I wanted EXCEPT breakfast at Tusker House and lunch at Sci Fi (Star Wars Weekend).

1 hour, 26 minutes later and we are done. Got everything we wanted within about 10 minutes. YAY!

Of course, we made like 18 ADR's..........
