I finally broke down and bought it. Everyone seemed to have such good things to say.

Did it take you very long to get used to it? It seems like some days it looks good and some days not so good.

Did the Bare Vitamins make your skin look better - how long did that take?

I think I am going to like it more with use, just wondering about other people's experiences.

Thanks - :)

I didn't care for it, and use Sheer Cover instead. To me, the Bare Escentuals gave me a glittery look that I just couldn't get past.....maybe I had the wrong shade. Either way, I love my Sheer Cover so if BE doesn't work out for you, maybe you can consider SC.

Thanks - I had never heard of SC. I will look into it! :)

If you do end up wanting to buy it, do a search here on the CB first. Someone told me about it, where to buy it (Home Shopping Network I think) and also gave me a code to use. The bad thing about this product is you have to be in a "club" to use it -- they charge your credit card each month and they send you a new supply. I've never wanted to commit to that, so I buy it off ebay when I need a new supply -- more like every 3/4 months instead of every month like the club wants you to commit to.

I've been using Bare Escentuals for over a year, love it. It did take some getting use to though. I think the trick is to not use too much. In the beginning I probably over did it, because I was afraid it wouldn't cover. Having the right shade is important, I had to adjust that also.

I usually purchase it from QVC (no club to join), or if you have a Sephora store near you, they sell it also.

I would love to know more about Bare Essentuals also. I plan on buying some when we are in Orlando in November. Is it really expensive? How many different products did you buy. I'm glad I found this thread because I am cluesless when it comes to makeup to begin with and I don't want to look totally clueless when I walk into the store in November.

TIA

There is a Bare Escentuals show tomorrow 9/29 on QVC 1-3am Eastern and 2-5pm eastern time . They will be doing lots of demos and explaining how to use the product correctly.

The times are awful for me but if you can set your VCR you will get lots of helpful hints.

I bought the starter kit at Sephora for $60. It contained two shades of foundation, the mineral veil, bare viatmins (lotion), warmth (like a blush),
the kabuki brush, concealer brush and full face brush. It came with a demonstration DVD; but I don't have a DVD player! :)

We carried it at a spa I worked for a couple of years ago. I was lucky that I had the pros teach me how to use it from the get go.

Getting the right shade or the right mix of two shades is important. And buffing. For me, that's the key to that flawless skin look.

I've used it for many years. I think it take a couple tries but I don't think it is too hard to learn to use. I don't use the vitamin stuff, I use mineral veil sometimes, I never use warmth--I just don't like it and have 2 or 3 containers of it.
I like it so much better than regular makeup & their brushes are such good quality (they do wear out though--you'll have to replace it at some point--I've probably had 3). Most of the time I like the 2.3 shade but today I'm wearing 5 as I have some sun.

I started using Bare Escentuals based on discussions here. I have breakouts and this tones them down a lot. I like the natural look it gives me. The freckles are still there, but I wouldn't want to totally block them out. The only thing I don't like about it is when I sweat; it makes my face itchy. I bought my starter kit from QVC, but now I buy the same stuff on eBay.

How do you know which shade is right for you? I'm so hopelessly lost when it comes to make up...

I'd like to know this as well.

If it's available at Sephora do they have samples/demos? I'm going to have to make a trip to Sephora soon, I see. I'm not a big order online or over the telephone type of gal - I like to see it for myself. Thanks for the info - I've been wanting to try this line.

I actually just bought some at the Florida Mall this past weekend. I too wasn't sure of a base color so didn't want to buy through QVC only to have to ship it back. I got base, mineral veil and glee and they were $19.99 each. When I got home I checked QVC's single prices and they were the same. The salesgirl at BE was very nice and did my whole face. I wish I bought the kabuki brush though but for $28 it was a stretch.

If you go to Sephora, they have people there that can help you pick out the right shade and you can try it there also.

Maybe looking at the colors on QVC's site can help you http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?class=6285&tmp=hp&cont=mhhb&cm_re=HP-_-MASTHEAD-_-BEAUTY .

To the OP, it didn't take that long to get used to using it. Yes, it took a little longer in the beginning, but it sure was worth it. Just make sure that you don't use to much. A little dab will do ya!!!! This product goes a lonnnggg way!!

www.medi-spastore.com often has sales. In the past month they have had a 20% off, 15% off, and now I think that they are having a 10% off of everything storewide. And no shipping for orders over $25.00, that saves you alot right there. I will post the coupon codes that you need to use when they e-mail them to me. Or get on their mailing list. The coupon code right now for 10% is mediskin.

Hope the helps!!!!

Sorry the link to QVC didn't work for me. Go to item A67229 and check that out.
