I was considering making my nephews some homemade autograph books for their first trip (January!)

Any ideas on how to do this? I mean other than the obvious stapling papers together and passing them a pen... :confused3

I made mine through Shutterfly as photobooks using the pages that people created in the crafty section here.

I'm not crafty at all, so I can't help there! Here is a suggestion though.. I didn't like the standard autograph books, so I got my daughter this for our last trip and it was awesome! http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Junior...342405371&sr=8-1&keywords=disney+encyclopedia

The characters loved seeing their pages and even read a bit of the trivia with my DD; it was great for interaction and my daughter loves reading her book and viewing everyone's autograph on the pages :)

I dig that!!

Not only do I like it for an autograph book but I think it would be perfect for my DD4 who doesn't watch the movies (she doesn't handle people being made to feel bad very well, which usually happens within the first 5-10 min of every Disney movie) as a way to know the characters better. So glad you posted this!

If you go down to the Creative DISigns threads (they are one of the very last ones on the list), there are some GREAT autograph book ideas. I make my daughters for each trip and the characters love the original books and she gets so much extra attention.

I made DD #1 an autograph book as a gift for her 5th birthday trip to Disney. She's almost 9 now and to this day still thinks Mickey snuck into our room and left it on the bed for her. :-)

I bought a small, spiral bound notebook for $1 at Target, and decorated the cover with the word "Autographs" in Disney font, along with some other Disney themed stickers and various embellishments from Michael's. If I spent $8-$10 on the thing that would be a lot, and it was totally personalized for DD and IMO much cuter than the ones you can buy in the parks.

Last year I made these for my children:

These were super easy! I found a coupon code for snapfish or shutterfly (I cant remember which sorry) and I uploaded the images from a fellow diser and they shipped them straight to my house and I took them to staples to get bound. I then got a permanent marker for the characters to use. The characters really interacted with the kids about the books and my kids were so proud of them!

The only thing I would have done differently is I would pick a few designs for the whole book instead of each individual character because even though it was in alphabetical order it was a pain to flip through all of the pages. There was also a lot of characters we didnt see and then there were others characters that had to sign the "extra" pages in the back because I didnt expect to see them.

Overall, it is well worth it!

These are super cute! My kids did their own books (with my help).... we took 4 X 6 pieces of cardstock in various colors. Then we glued on a picture (from internet) of each character they were hoping to see. The cards were then slid into a photo album and they could slide them out for each character to sign. The characters LOVED the pics and really interacted more with my kids than others since most kids were using the plain paged autographed books. It was great! :yay:

We also had blank pages, because inevitably there were some characters we weren't expecting to see....

This is great!! I am going to have to look into doing something like this for my little ones for our next trip. Great job!!

When we went 3 years ago (my girls were 3 and 7) we made our own.

Hit the Target dollar section and bought 5x7 scrapbooks (blank pages) Covered them with Disney Stickers and cut-outs (I have a Cricut and so we made some Disney characters!) then laminated the cover with clear contact paper so it wouldn't get ruined.

My oldest had Ariel on her cover and when we met Ariel, she was quite impressed!

It cost us $1.00 for the book itself (maybe $5 with the contact) and then some creativity.

I want to make a personalized book with pictures of the characters. Where can I find a recent list of which ones will be there when we are there?

We've made several, using stickers, glitter sticks etc.. we find at JoAnn's. The little mermaid page was beautiful. I use the photo books that have a area on the side of each page to write on. On our last trip our girls decorated princess baseball hats and had them autographed. I have to admit they were so much easier as they wore them on their heads for most of the trip, so we didnt have to dig for our books. They still wear them today, and many people have stopped us and asked to look at them. Have a great trip.

I went to the craft store and bought Disney scrapbook paper. I cut them down (to a size that would fit easily in our bag we take to the parks), and glued each page to a piece of cardstock for durablity. I had some papers that had pictures of different characters, while other pages were just colorful pages for any extra characters that didn't have a specific page. I used stickers to make a colorful personalized cover, then took it to Staples to have the cover page laminated and the whole book bound.
