Make-up for Engagement photos?

We have a photo session scheduled with the Roots on our upcoming trip , and I was just curious as to what everyone did for makeup. I'm not sure if I should get it done professionally or just do it myself. It seems most of the make-up artists charge a $50 travel fee? Is that true? I figure with the travel fee it would cost about $100 to have my make-up done, which seems steep, but then we're paying a good amount for the photos too, so maybe it would be worth it?

I think it would be worth it. Not only will it look great for the pics but it's a good opportunity to do a trial run for the wedding.

I'm planning on the day I do my e-pics to also do my hair/makeup trial run for my wedding. That way you can see your wedding hair and then see if they can change it a bit for your e-pics and your makeup.

Thanks everyone! The only thing is that it wouldn't be a trial run, we're not sure what type of wedding we're going to have yet or where, so thoughts of hairstylists are still a long way away. I am hoping for a Disney wedding but not sure I will win that battle. If I do, it would be good to have some experience with a stylist already.

So I was thinking of just keeping my hair pretty natural and having make-up done and maybe just get some false eyelashes put on.

I did not have my makeup done for engagement pics. I went to the Clinique counter and had them teach me and I bought the basics and did it myself. It looked great. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding the week after my e-pics and did the same thing.

I had makeup done by Ana $50 flat fee no travel and she came to the resort. Seemed to be the best option for me since I also used it as my trial run too
