We've seen a lot of really disappointed folks this week at WDW.

Last night at 1900PF they were turning away anyone who didn't have a PS or wasn't staying at the GF.

Wednesday people coming into 50's PT for dinner at 5:00pm were being told they wouldn't be seated until 9:00pm.

Donald's wasn't taking walk-up's at 8:30 am earlier this week, and was telling people they could check back at 10:15.

Boma and Jiko both had a two plus hour wait if you didn't have PS.

Cape May Cafe had a minimum 90 minute wait without PS when we cehceked in, and by the time we left wasn't taking walk-up's.

The Kona had a minimum 90 minute wait without PS at 6:45 the other night.

The Garden View Lounge turned away anyone without PS for tea the day we were there.

All in all with PS's we've been seated quickly except we had to wait a few extra minutes when we've requested a specific server for a table to free up in their area. Glad we had those PS's though!

Great advice--I recently made PS arrangement for beginning of November, and could not always get times requested, had to go with "off" times.

I preach this all of the time! Just got back 2 weeks ago and heard the same thing at all of the places we were eating. Commonly heard "if you don't have a PS we cannot accomodate you this evening" (both at the 50s PT and H&V). We have our September PS already set and are working on our October trip now.

Hi Anne - I enjoy reading your posts. Have you had time to post any resort to dining reviews yet?

I made a PS for Chef Mickeys for dinner 3 days ago (41 days out) and the best I could get was 8:15. I didn't book as early as I could have because my DM who always goes this time of the year, keeps telling me how dead it always is. She says they never make PS's, just walk up. I definately think FTP is going to make this trip different from all her past trips.

Not yet, maybe tonight I'll start with dining reviews.

Anne

Thanks for the head's up, Anne. We're leaving next week and I'm in the middle of helping another family with things and haven't gotten to it. I guess I'll be calling WDW Dine tonight. I haven't used my DC card in awhile. Can I call the toll free number for dining or just for ressies? Thanks. Susan

We are just back from WDW and didn't make any PS res until we arrived. Had no problems getting into Cape May(made PS day before) or SciFi(same day).

You know there have been a couple of instances where we were not able to secure a PS at the restaurant or through the resort while there, so we called WDWDINE and we were able to get one that way. This has always been at the last minute.......sometimes you just have a taste for something;)

Probably a weird question...but,
When I call to make my PS's (which I will be doing, even though we're going in off-season and DH says "no need" lol), do I include DD (1 year old) in the count? It will be DH, DS 10, DS 9, DD1, and I -- so do I make PS for 4? Or 5? (She will be free at buffets, eat from our plates otherwise, and sit in a high chair.)

Include your dd in the count. The cm should ask you the ages of the children in your party and if you need a highchair. She has to be included in the ps though because the table size changes from a table of 4 to a table of 5, even though she is free. Just made some ps for my family of 5 with one dd who will be 1 too!!

yes, the toll-free number still works - option 3 is for dining

hi all
having just read this thread about no walk up ps's i was wondering if we were to ring when we are there(staying on site)would we be able to get seating that way,i ask this because while i will be making some ps's before we go i also wanted to leave some options open for when we are there will i be able to do this??hope i have made some sense;)
thanks eve:D

Absolutley. While I'm a big fan of PS before leaving home. We do often change our plans while there. Many times we do call dining either that evening to get into a resort restraurant, esp. before heading over there, or we call dining to see what the availablility is of a certain restraurant--but usually at least the evening before. We have never tried to get into a "park" restraurant the day of. Sometimes we just miss our PS--having too much fun-- and will call dining to see if we can get into it on another meal before our trip ends. We always like having a plan before we leave home, but we also so some slight modifiying while we are there.

If I want to make changes while there I call from the room, or just go to guest services at any park. They are a great help too. :)
Last Columbus Day weekend (October) we ate at Le Cellier. They were telling all walk up's then no seating without PS', and suggesting guests to other locations.
PS' are a big help, even if you end up changing them a little.

Also, please remember to bring those PS numbers with you. On our last trip, we had a Fantasmic dinner package booked at H&V and at the end of the meal we didn't receive our special entry coupon, so I asked about it and the server didn't seem to know that we had the dinner package. A supervisor came over to the table, I gave her my PS number , and when she came back, she said, yes you did book the package and gave me the ticket. Without that number, I'm not sure what would have happened. So, bring those numbers with you, just in case.
