Make sure you purchase your tickets or upgrade your AP before this weekend

Sorry if I've missed this elsewhere on the thread - if I buy an AP but not activate it and buy a one day pass instead, will the AP be auto-activated by the magic band or do I have to stop off at ticketing and activate it?
(Asking for a friend. :) )
Actually this year is looking like an off year for me but with Star Wars land opening next year - it might be advantageous to get the AP now for next year and just buy the daily tickets if I happen to go this year

All APs MUST be activated in-person.

Hi. When I looked it didn't look like I could buy tickets for October. Is this correct? I booked a couple nights stay before our cruise through DVC rental. My reservations is showing on my my disney account. Should I be able to buy my tickets now? I just need one day mk tickets for 4.
Don't know if you have found out your information yet, but I just called and was told that they don't have the seasons past September. I was told I would have to wait. Bummer.

I'm not willing to gamble. I was told that if I bought a Regular ticket and then my date ended up being a Peak season, then I would have to upgrade it in person. I asked about FastPasses and was told that I wouldn't be able to make them for the date I was planning on using the ticket. Now I wonder if since I have 5 NE days, if it wouldn't affect that. I'm only making FPs for 2 days. But will my FPs be affected when I prioritize the one-day ticket to be used first? This is so confusing! I don't understand Disney making it this hard to understand. It really makes me not even want to go!

So it looks like I'm gonna end up paying $50 more per ticket for our 4 day passes. X 4 family members. $200 more for our next trip. Yikes! That is big increase!!

And in 2009 the military member was free.

It's still about half of the gate price, which I am very grateful for.

WOW! I can buy her an AP (could have been a PAP in January) for almost the same price as the 2 5 day tickets.

Yep when you mentioned how long your trip is, I was going to suggest getting an AP if you can. Even if there isn’t a trip planned for the future, the ticket is there.

More and more that is my plan. Still have the pay the other rates for the second one but saving on even one is good. In January, I could have bought her a PAP for the money. Maybe I'll grab her an AP tonight. I can always save it for a rainy YEAR. Thank you again for all of your help. The military machine is still fairly new to us and we don't have much experience day-to-day.

I bit the bullet and ordered my ticket for my trip in May. I purchased a 7 park hopper from UCT through the MS link. :)

What’s UCT and the MS link?

undercovertourist.com
mousesavers.com

These are a couple of the MANY authorized WDW ticket discounters.
A few more are...

parksavers.com
mapleleaftickets.com
boardwalkticketing.com

AND...
Always check everything about the pricing VERY CAREFULLY to make sure that Florida tax and shipping fees (if needed)
are part of the price... before you decide to buy anything.

Just bought Platinum AP for a future year! My current AP doesn't expire until October otherwise I would have renewed!!! I've got a 7 day Park Hopper that I bought before the Feb. 2017 Price change from UCT and an 8 Day Park Hopper Water Park Fun & More that I got 25% off with the Canadian Deal before the Feb 2017 Price Change. All are good until Dec 31, 2030!

Thank you for the warning! We are currently in our renewal period for our Weekday Select APs (FL Resident). Between the renewal discount and the price increase, I may just go ahead and renew. However, we won't be back at Disney until early May.

Another choice is to buy a completely new AP certificate (at the old price) and hold onto it until May.

Thanks for the heads up. Just bought our 8 day park hoppers through UCT. Linked to MDE and now ready to go.

Just got off the phone with Disney.
They said if I change the number of days on my tickets I would still pay the old price because that price is locked in.
I asked her if she could confirm that and she did.

I think it’s best to assume she’s talking about if you change it before the price increase.

This info is not correct. Ticket are non transferable once linked to your Account. Call Disney. You can have both on your account but need to have them labeled correctly.

Only once they are activated. Before you start using them you can move them around.

I have 7 day park hoppers I bought from UT. Is there anyway to upgrade them now to AP's or do I have to wait until I get to the parks?

You have to wait.

:( Very upsetting that Disney is increasing prices (as usual) and adding expiration dates and charging by season...

They are ‘just doing what they did last year’ AND what they have been doing at disneyLAND for a long time with the expiration date...we need to be happy we had so many years without them!

I would hope it would thin the crowds some.............but, it won't.:(
This has been mentioned a couple of times in this thread already. It isn't an irrational assumption that consistently high crowding in the parks means that Disney is leaving money on the table with lower price increases than they could have made. However, I think Disney knows so much more about us that we think they know that they'll never increase prices high enough to hurt restaurant and souvenir sales more than the price increase. They are increasing prices just the correct amount.
