The happy place. We spent a week in Orlando, first 4 days in Universal Orlando and the last three days at the BWV's. We did not tour the parks we just wanted to breathe a little Disney air and enjoy the resort after some exhausting days on the dark side.
We had reservations at Flying Fish and Boma. It was myself, daughters 10 and 8, and a family friend. When I booked our dining my daughter was 9 so it just did not register that she would be an adult as far as Disney dining was concerned when we dined at Boma. We generally book the deluxe dining when we are doing an actual Disney vacation.
When we were greeted at Boma, they ask how many kids , how many adults, I offer 2/2. They then ask ages of kiddos, I respond 10 and 8. They in turn say "so 3 adults and 1 kiddo". That's when it hits me, she's an adult now when in the mouse house.
My sweet Disney adult ate a slice of turkey, a drumstick, and Mac & cheese for $39.99, now people I have been going to Disney since there was only one park, I have owned at the BWV's since 1998, I am an AP owner more often than not. But that's just stupid! Morale of this rant, we will be buying a Tables in Wonderland card next year at the beginning of our AP cycle and will no longer dine at buffets or participate in dining plans unless Disney reconsiders what an adult is when it comes to dining ages. Thanks allowing me to vent, it has been therapeutic.
