Okay, we cannot decide - please tell us of these three excursions - which should we do!!!

1 - 5 Star St. John Snorkel & Beach
2 - Doubloon Sail and Snorkel
3 - St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel Tour

We are the two Okie mom's who can't decide on their July 27, 2002 cruise coming up!!! HELP US PLEASE!!!

WE NEED DETAILS AND THE MOST FUN A.S.A.P. - We don't want to do these on our own - we will do them thru DCL.

THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

We just got back. People that did St. John's said it was gorgeous, but it is a lot of money for olny 1 & 1/2 hours on the beach/snorkeling. We did our own beach trip to Coki Beach...recommended by this board and it was awesome. Took a cab right by the ship... $7 per person...10 min ride...it was great. Nice beach...you rent chairs and umbrellas for $10...several small restaurants on the beach...people walk around taking drink orders all day...they really cater to you. The best part is the Beach...it is amazing...smooth water...no waves...some of the best snorkeling we've ever done(we took our own equipment, but they do rent it out there). Tons of coral and tons of fish all over the place...best is to the Right near the rocks...close to Coral World (which is an aquarium....one of the excursions actually). So you will see lots of cruisers there. The Beach was full of Disney and Carnival. We thought the Beach was much better than Castaway Cay. You won't be disappointed with St. John...just know that it takes a while to get there...and you don't get much time there at all. We were at Coki Beach by 8:30 and stayed til 3pm for a lot less money. Our dining table mates did the St. Johns and were back on the ship by noon. It just depends what you are looking for.

OK...I'll throw a curve. We did the Champagne Catamaran to St. John (Honeymoon Beach) and loved it. It's a bit pricey but longer than most (6 hours or so). It was 2 hours each way and 2 hours on the beach/boat with good food and drinks (yes...drinks!!). But, there are many other great options, too. Just thought I'd mention it.

:( Alexa and I will be bummed you won't be doing St.John w/ us!
I do know a couple who did the champagne catamaran and they enjoyed it!

Hi Lisa - to be honest with you - my sis and I just don't know what we want to do on St. JOhn - there are just tooo many options. The only thing I want to do is something that I wouldn't normally be able to do except on my cruise - I'm into boats and things and I kinda would like to do the Doubloon excursion - but I know my sis told me last night that you guys were going to do the St. JOhn on your own.

I guess I'm the hold up on things - but I just don't know much about St. John or any of those islands. I know people have said that doing things on your own on the islands can be much more fun. I just don't know what to do!!!!!!

But don't give up on us yet - we're trying to decide by today so we can get things booked.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester:

Lisa - what all are you guys going to do on St. JOhn - just hang out at the beach or what do you have planned for St. John.

Hi beachgirls!

I would love to spend time on both St. John and St. Thomas because this is where we honeymooned many moons ago but there is just not enough time! :(
One of my sisters REALLY wants to snorkel so we thought we'd just head to Trunk Bay for that! It's so beautiful that I really want them to see it and I know we can spend more time there if we do NOT do a DCL excursion so that's what we have planned so far.

There is just not a whole lot of time to do anything or venture out too far so we'll really be watching the clock but we'll TRY for the 1st ferry over to St. John that morning! My parents could always do a tour of the island if the beach got to be too much I suppose!

I agree, there are alot of options! You guys don't HAVE to decide before you go, you can try and book something on the ship but if there is something you REALLY want to do, book it now you'll have it confirmed for certain!

I booked 4 of us yesterday for the 12-metre regatta at St. Maarten and 5 of the others for the Under 2 Flags tour while we're on the regatta!:D

Here's what we've planned thus far

St. Martin - Butterfly Farm Tour; Golden Eagle Catamaran; Sea and See Island Tour and then the guys are doing the Shipwreck Cove Snorkel Tour;

St. John - of course is still up in the air

Castaway Cay - kids are parasailing - I'm doing Banana Boat Ride at least once - and then relaxing the rest.

The Banana boat sounds like a blast but after the regatta, I may want to just lay on the beach!:D

we did the five star and it was well worth every penny. infact when we go east again I will definately re-do that one. We chose the afternoon one so we could go into St. Thomas shopping first, come back have lunch then head off to st. john. you don't get back until like 4:30 but since it is a disney sponcered excursion the boat will not leave without you.

well my sis and I said that whatever the first recommendation was would be our decision SO ------------

DECISION IS MADE - 5 STAR SNORKEL
