So I am slowly checking out all the TR's from page one of this thread.:surfweb: I am assuming we will be staying at GKTW, but of course am open to whatever plans they need to make for us. I have seen a couple of photos of the villas at GKTW. Since we are a small family, only 2 kids, we should have plenty of room, but I am wondering about the sleeping arrangements. Phoebe, 8, is a very restless sleeper so a few years ago we moved her into a full size bed. She flops back and forth and side to side so we layer pillows around her. Tessa, soon to be 4, is also somewhat restless but she manages to stay in her twin size bed the majority of the time. I'm wondering if the beds in the villa move? I was thinking of pushing the two twins together so they have a little more flopping room. And just in case Phoebe takes over Tessa's side (that's what she does when she's in my bed!) do they happen to have those bed rails that you can slide under the mattress to keep kids from falling out? Would we need to request it ahead of time or can we try it without first? Any ideas?

We have all of our trip details!!! Our wish granters came over last night, the kids are soooo excited. Only 8 more days till we leave for our magical trip. Now to just keep the kids occupied for another 8 days and keep explaining to Lucas that no we aren't going to disney jsust yet.

Our wish chapter rented a stroller from some outside company so we will have stroller access 24/7 instead of just in the parks. I am going to call them to let them know we don't need this, as we are bringing Lucas' stroller since the one we have is an umbrella with alarge shade and reclines. I didn't think about it until after they left, but do we need to bring a carseat for him, or do the rental car companies rent them, and would it just be easier for us to bring our own?

These are great questions!

I think I would call GKTW and request the bed rails. I think they could accomodate that.

Their number is 800-995-KIDS. :)

If not, then you would know ahead of time and maybe buy some there at the Walmart that is down the street? If they are fairly inexpensive?

Fantastic!!!! 8 days!!!! :yay:

I would bring your own carseat. I know it is a pain to lug around...but it does not count as a carry on (you can gate check it) and you would have it for all of the driving you will do in Orlando. I think he would be the most comfy that way! :) And you would feel like he was safest, too. :thumbsup2

We went on our wish trip in May...the beds do move! You could easily move them together! We just moved our against the walls to have only 1 way they could fall off!

I know that has been some replies already. But there is also a roll away bed in the villa. So that maybe an additional bed for you. But I agree the beds were very easy to move and there would be still be plenty of room I agree with Maroo give GKTW a call they were very accomdating to our needs. I would give them a call ahead of time.

my pre-trip report is gone?! anyone have any ideas where it went? :confused3 i haven't been on in a while and edited it to edit it again.. if that makes any sense :rotfl:
should i make a new one?

anyway
i got dates! we'll be in disneyworld from december 2nd-9th!

Woohoo!!! Lots of time to make plans but not too far away! :goodvibes

I was just checking the calendar to see when Phoebe's wish granter is coming home from her vacation and she's still gone this week. It feels like it's been months!:rolleyes1 I'm trying so hard to be patient. Congrats on your dates!

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I hadn't thought of a roll away. By putting that in the middle it would make plenty of room for my floppy sleepers. :thumbsup2
I'll call GKTW about the bed rails as an extra caution. Maybe I should start to make a list of questions and then call when I get our dates.

Congrats on Dates! :)

You have several options! You can go to your UserCP and it should have a list of your threads on there and you can post to it and it will bump it!

You can also put a link to it on your siggie!

If you start a new one...or continue the old one...post here so that we can come find ya! :)

Hi All!
I have two weeks to re-plan my daughter's Make A Wish trip! Our trip is October 23-November 1.

Originally our MAW trip was in May but at the last minute we had to reschedule to October. So I've had all summer to plan but yet here I am two weeks before the trip trying to plan it again! (Our summer has been crazy, dealing with a fire at our home, my daughter was diagnosed with two cysts that need surgery, and I was diagnosed with a rare skin condition, I'm also awaiting another diagnosis for possible lupus.) We are all SO looking forward to a much needed vacation! I want to plan as much as possible but not worry to much about every detail.

I was sent a planner from maroo, can I get another one please? It helped me so much to make the first itinerary!

I don't think there will be too many changes. The only disappointing change is my oldest son, Christopher, will not be able to join us. I would like to look into the Mickey's Halloween if tickets are still available. We will be celebrating Azaria's birthday while we are there too! Her birthday is Oct 26, she will be 7! Really want to do something special for her on that day.

I am planning a "Birthday and Make A Wish Send-off party" for her on Oct. 17. Instead of gifts, I've requested donations be made to Make A Wish. I'd really like to have a Make A Wish "Dreams do come true" Birthday Party theme. If anyone has any party ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I am really looking forward to the next few weeks, the planning, the party, the trip and sharing memories with everyone. When we get home, Azaria will go into surgery, she is expected to be in ICU for a while, this surgery is not going to be easy on her. I'm glad I scheduled it after her trip.

Thanks again!
Debi

Best of luck on your planning. Maroo's planner really helped us out alot. We have just gotten back from our trip. There is so much to do and see just make sure you take time to enjoy the moment. I know at times I got caught up on we need to be here and we need to there. ThenI had to remind myself stop and enjoy yourself. Have a great time planning!!!

Good news is Bailee does not have Cystic Fibrosis. She was diagnosed with Specific Antibody Deficiency. She is trying a dose of Bactrim daily to see if it helps.

We had a wonderful time at Sea World San Antonio last weekend. :cheer2: I will add some pictures to my trip report when I get a chance.

Headed off to take Landon to the doctor. He is running a fever and says his throat hurts. :sad2:

Glad to hear Bailee doesn't have CF, I hope the bactrim will help. Piper actually takes a double dose of bactrim 2x daily, and it has seemed to help...

I'm glad she was negative. Hope you find the key to making her feel better.

Hey guy's I know it's been awhile, but reading all this makes me miss our trip more and more. I wanted, however to post the following:

My wife just informed me that we got a call today and Mya princess: will be cast as a Baby Angel :littleangel: in the Dallas Children's Theater upcoming production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever."

She auditioned a little over a week ago with the beginning of the flu and a 101 temp:sick:. It's not a speaking role, but it is her first audition and her first performance. She will be in around 18 performances during the holiday season.

We as a family are just so proud of her :cheer2: that I had to share it with y'all.
