Tomarrow is Liam's last schedualed Doctors appointment before our trip, so please keep your fingers crossed that his lung functions are good and there is nothing bad in his cultures.

Our doctor also hosts a yearly picnic for families with CF. This will be our first year attending so I had no clue when it was normally schedualed. I just got the invite in the mail, the date for the picnic is September 12. The day before we go to florida. Is this fate or what?

For those who have not read the news in our PTR, I got a PM on monday asking us if we wanted to be a part of the Big Give. I am still waiting for them to email me with the questionare, but I must admite that I am very excited and I can't wait to see my kids faces.

I am hoping that we will be fine. It's an afternoon picnic so it will end at about 1 or 2. It's also about an hour away from the house so I am sure the kiddies will get a nice nap on the way home.

Liam's appointment went pretty well. He's gained a little more weight and grew about 1/4 of an inch, which is always good with someone with CF. His lung functions remain real good and the sputum results wont be in for a couple of days so unless I get a phone call from him I know there are no concerns there.

The only problem is that Liam's doctor is concerned that Liam's coughing has increased, which means that we are not getting as much of the mucas out of his lungs that we would like to. He put him on an antibiotic for two weeks and he have piggy backed a follow up appointment to his sister (who has asthma) next month.

What has got me mostly worried is the fact that the Doctor thinks that the coughing should be a lot better, and even though his lung functions are great there will come a time when we need to decide if we want to but him in the hospital for a "Tune Up" so we can find the medicine coctail that will improve it.

I've been pretty lucky until now. Even though Liam wasn't diagnosed until last Dec, he has been pretty healthy. We have only gone to the ER once with a fever that wouldn't go down and they gave him medicine and sent him home. I know it is rare to have a child with CF and not end up with at least one stay at the hospital, but I still am a little freaked out.

Good news is that since it wouldn't be an emergency, if this is something we need to do, we can wait until after Disney.
