They have no family in the States. They moved here from England. As far as I know, they have no extended family around.

Although we have LOTS of kids (everyone on this thread!) that have been in the hospital, etc...This seems to me like the first time we have had one of our own in such a desperate situation AND have no family around.

There are a few of us that have talked about doing something tangible for this family. At this point, we are thinking about getting our kids to make cards for her and things like that. Pixie Dust type stuff that won't be terribly expensive, but would be appreciated at this tough time.

If you are interested in participating (please don't feel any pressure at all...just if you want to), please PM me.

Whee! Got an email from MAW -- it looks like we can go April 21 - 27. Anyone know how busy it is during that time?

I'm so excited! We haven't told the children yet ... have to decide a fun way to do that.

We weren't able to go see the doctor yesterday as we had an inch of ice on all the roads here. But we did go today and it went well. He said he couldn't see any signs of anything urgent though he did say it was good that we were going for her check up in March. Of course he had to add the "I'm not a pediatric cardiologist" line that every health professional that talks about Lydia feels the need to say. Really? Her blood pressures were normal so that is good. She is not cyanotic but she never was (pda and coarct are not cyanotic conditions). But at least I feel comforted that there's no immediate danger to her.

Wow, I got back from GKTW a couple of weeks ago and this is teh first chance I have had to come back to the board. I am sorry about that. I am sorry for everyone who is suffering right now. I wish I had a magic wand to make everyone better. We were at the Village when Becca and her family was there. It just breaks my heart to see that little girl sick. Life is so precious. My Asia has been sick as well. It has been a hard 2 weeks for us. I pray that we all get our miracles. I will update as I can. There are small updates on my blog if anyone is interested. (don't be shy if you go to my blog.. drop me a note so I know you popped in) Many hugs and prayers to all of you.

TV/Tivo Alert!

I am so obsessed. I did a search for "Disney" on the tv and discovered several shows are having "Visiting Disney" storylines right now -- Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Roseanne, and Full House. Set and record!

I really want to begin making plans, lists, schedules ... but I'm in school and I have both a test and a paper due Monday. I may have to disconnect my internet connection. Can I be temporarily banned from disboards? JUST KIDDING, don't do it!!!

Let me get this all straight...seriously...for my prayer list...I am getting confused - I know God is not - but I am.

We have Becca in the PICU. We have Noah in the hospital (regular room). We have Savannah still getting poked and prodded and Jakob's news yesterday.

Is that all from my prayer list? Am I forgetting someone or something?

I am praying for all of you guys, by the way, in a general sort of way...I just feel like we all have a lot going on right now and wanted to make sure we were all on the same page.

Well our granters just left...Emma chose Disney...we are hoping to be able to go in June... She is really excited and it was such a cool experience...so hopefully in the next few weeks we have a date....

Ok this is kind of a dumb question, but I am going to buy Jake the offical MAW t-shirt off their website and I am not sure how the sizes run in the kids shirts, for those of you that have MAW shirts for your kids, can you tell me what size you have and how old your child is?

Jake is 8, but he wears like a size 6-7 shirt, so would a small be to small??

With Aidan's Formula do y'all think I should check the whole box as a piece of luggage ($15) or ship it ahead of us via UPS or something. I was going to put a few extra cans in our carry on bag, but I just hope AA doesn't lose that luggage if we do check it.

Before you buy one, I would ask your MAW chapter if they have any there that you can buy. We did this and they gave us each one for FREE! Plus, when they arrived with Lauren's basket of goodies before we left, they had included a shirt.

The T-Shirts from ours (I am sure they are the same) are like the basic T-shirt you would buy, like a Beefy T...

I think Lauren wears a child M and she is a size 8 - 10...so the small would probably work for him? You could check with your MAW, if you are close by, and see if they will let you pick the color and check the size before you get one!

Well I did call, actually before I posted. They charge for everything except stroller, diaper bag, car seat and your one carry on. We usually pack it in the suitcase and then put a couple in carryon. Just make sure to take them out when you go through security so they can see them. We have never had any problems. We usually put some in each suitcase to distribute weight and then if one suitcase goes missing we didn't loose all of it, just some of it.

You should be able to do a Youth Small...it should not be toddler size!

I would go ahead and get one and if you get another, then bonus for you!!!
