Hi everyone. My name is Dayna, and my daughter, Kate is getting ready to do her wish trip to Orlando! She is SO excited. We are in sort of a unique position, all three of our kids have the same disease, our oldest, 8 year old CHarlie, did his wish 3 years ago, also to Orlando. Kate was only 3, so while she has vague memories, they are not strong. What she does remember is LOVING the village - in fact, that was her wish, to go back to Give Kids The World! She is very excited to go to Disney World!

I'd love any input. Last time we were there, all three kids were super young, 5, 3 and 1 (he was almost 2) - and they will be 5, 6 and 8 when we go!

You can go to the "technical help" board at the very bottom of the disboards. There is a lot of info on there. Also...you can go to the "test" board and post 5 or 6 times to get to your 10, so you can send a PM (private message)...just click on someone's name and click that option.

I know you from the PEDpid yahoo group. Also from your many informative articles in IGliving! I am so glad you are going to be going back to GKTW, what a special time it will be! We just got back from Nick's wish Trip on Sunday.. it was amazing. I haven't had time to update his TR since I have been working all the time but also because our wish organization has our memory cards and hasn't given them back yet!! lol.. soon tho! Welcome, welcome!

We asked when she made the wish if we could extend for two days at our own expense, so we'll be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kate is a TOTAL animal lover - and couldn't decide between asking for the village, or there - we told her that we could always go to the AKL but couldn't always stay at the Village, so she picked that, and we extended as a suprise to her.

I'm going to do our pretrip report this afternoon - Charlie is getting an award at school this morning for excellence in academics, so I need to head up there this morning with him!

I'm SOO glad I found all of you!!!

Oh Dayna, I am SO jealous!! I SO want to go the the AK Lodge, but it's just not in the budget right now Someday...

We are extending too and have booked into Pop Century. Yeah, not the Lodge , but I think the kids will still love it.

Question for those of you who've been to GKTW already...

I am trying to plan out some of our days. Since we are still hoping to extend our trip, I am trying to figure out when to do what. The kids really want to get to Kennedy Space Center and the ocean. I'm wondering if the space center is on the list of places on the pass the wish kids get when they leave? Or if we will have to pay OOP for the space center since we aren't at GKTW anymore? Just trying to figure out our budget.

I just looked at ours.
The Kennedy space station IS on the list BUT it ISNT all that straightforward.
When we were given the world passport we were told that before we go we had to phone up at least one week before we wanted to visit to request our visit. You have to give your GKTW ID# at this time too.
So it all depends on whether or not you get your GKTW ID# in time and that you remember to book the visit.
It would probably be more beneficial to go to the space center whilst at GKTW and save one of your park days for afterwards, Our park tickets had at least and month on them, some had 2 years before expiring. I know GKTW have tickets for the Space center if you ask for them whilst staying there.
The only snag here is that you wouldnt benefit at the missed park day from your magic button or GAC because they are only valid for the length of your GKTW stay.

Hello Dayna...Welcome. Can't wait to read your pre trip report. This site is amazing, not to mention have AWESOME everyone here is. The kindness and generosity of the members here go beyond what I can even express in words.

We go on our son's wish trip the end of March...so I hope you will share the after trip as well, my son loves looking at everyone's pre trip reports, with pictures of course...lol.
