So, I will tell you....I drink coffee.

I will also tell you that Disneyworld can't brew a cup of coffee to save it's life.

Okay, there was the Kona Cafe which had an ok cup and there was the one other cup I had at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom. But every other attempt to get a good cup of coffee failed and some times in horrible fashion.

Not only is it bad in Disnyworld but driving from Macon Georgia all the way to DW there was not even one Starbucks or any coffee house between.

I'm not gonna take the entire blame on this one. A portion certainly, but come on Florida, really, how hard is it to make coffee?

My tip.

Prior to entering Florida, make sure you stop somewhere to get an extra tall super venti latte/coffee to tide you over for the week. To help tide you over for that week, bring your own coffee and maker, cuz unless you like gas station coffee, you are scr*?!@#ed.

lol! I bring my french press to Disney. Also, the Wave at the Contemporary has good coffee.:goodvibes

WOAH WOAH WOAH why didnt you just bring a coffeemaker thats pure torture to have to drink disney coffee! LOL of course a coke will always help take away any caffeine headaches but still I like my morning coffee and I'm sure you do too!

Oh and I believe morroco has good coffee if remember correctly...? I think it's actualy morrocan or turkish coffee but you cant really go in and say hey can I have a cup to go? :rotfl: other than that blah! I wish disney would invest in a starbucks or two....:confused3

So glad I'm a tea drinker when I hear about the nasty Disney coffee.

The simplest solution is this:

Roast a batch or two of a good quality, single origin coffee at home the week before vaca... and then either grind your beans the evening before you travel, or pack a small grinder in your luggage. Bring your own coffee and a French press with you to WDW, and brew a fresh pot in your room each day. This way there are no unpleasant surprises. ;)

DH and I rarely travel without our French Press pot and some recently roasted coffee from home any more. I just can't force myself to drink stale, low quality coffees (including 'Charbucks', which honestly isn't to our taste either). It is simple enough to heat up some water each AM, pour it into the press pot, and then either savor a cup of coffee in our room or fill a travel mug and head out for the day.

That said, Kona Cafe does offer a reasonably good press pot of Kona coffee at their breakfasts... and I have been told that they serve a good coffee at AKL as well.

I am guessing you came through Valdosta? We have Starbucks and a couple Ellianos here. ;)

If you are a Starbucks drinker, I have found that VIA comes in handy when on the road. You can get hot water at most any fast food place or convenience store.

There are definatly three main camps out there.

People who prefer to drink the type of coffee from Dunkin Doughnuts and McD's

People who like to drink Starbucks and similar

People who like black goo from any ole gas station, Perkins restaurants, etc.

I understand the first two groups. It's this third group I'm worried about.

For me I like starbucks and Via will be coming with me as backup to my bringing my own ground coffee and coffee maker.

The daily search for coffee at DW got pretty depressing by the end of my trip, although at times a bit comical.

simple solution. put a Tim Hortons in the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot, and all you have to do is order a "Double Double" for all your coffee needs!!

That bad huh? Sounds like I'll have to bring a coffeemaker.

:rotfl2: I thought we were the only ones who felt this way.

Nope. We feel that way too.

Disney has a large deal with Nestle - Nestle pays them a lot of money and therefore the coffee is Nestle foodservice coffee with only a few exceptions.

Since they won't make everyone happy no matter what they do, the best thing for coffee drinkers to do to protect themselves is bring their own. We stay DVC with a coffee maker.

The second best thing you can do is know where there is coffee. There is a coffee cart on the Boardwalk that does espresso drinks, a place that has Starbucks in the Dolphin (I'm not sure if it does espresso drinks or not), Kona has a coffee bar, AKL has non-Nestle coffee (but I'm not sure precisely where), the aforementioned Writers Shop has espresso drinks (load up on enough cream, sugar and syrup and most people can't tell what the beans started as.).

I thought I had it hard as I am not a coffee drinker but a diet pepsi drinker and everywhere I go there is the nasty other brand. At least I can bring in my own to the resort and enjoy with little hassle.

Good luck all you coffee drinkers, perhaps you should ban together and demand Disney learn how to make the good stuff.

I once brought a cheap (goodwill) espresso machine with me to DisneyWorld...and I came on a PLANE!!!

We bring filters for the 4-cup in room coffee makers, then DH brings his Dunkin Donut's coffee, and I bring my Starbucks...then we race to see who makes it to the coffee pot first (we'll both drink either, but clearly have our preferences:goodvibes).
