Major waits in Epcot!

Really someone last week said the crowds weren't bad? Wow. I saw 280 wait times for 7 dwarfs
In addition to others. Guess we all have our own idea of busy

Springbreak here in the Midwest. For many was last week (us) or this week.

Epcot was bad. Single rider TT was over an hour last week. By the way my Peeps love Capt EO
They would not miss it. (Yes they are weird) they were not happy with the wait for Figment! Fast pass plus does not work in that park

On our local news 2 weeks ago TT was a 500 minute wait that day!!! As a local we don't go anywhere near the parks from the 2nd week of March thru the end of April. (Heck I haven't left our neighborhood, except for a beach day trip, in the last 3 weeks because the traffic has been soooooo horrible this spring break season.)

So if today is a "7" at Epcot according to TP, is this what to expect? Or are they wrong?

I'm trying to visualize (without pictures, thank you) what the crowds and waits are like for an "8" day which is what most days we are considering going are rated at.

The crowd calendar at easywdw.com has today as a 9. That's probably more accurate.

I wonder what's available for the 4th FP+. :)

I'd never wait that long in any of those lines.

We will be in Epcot on the 18th, which I saw listed on the crowd calendar as a 5. Will the crowds be significantly lower by then?

UT also has today as a 9 but Epcot the most recommended park. Eek, hate to see MK or HS then...

I saw 255 minutes posted time on my Lines app! I guess that's what you get when you have a theme park built around 2 attractions.
Word :sad2: Epcot is painfully low on crowd-pleasers. I think that is one big reason the few attractions it does have quickly build queues on busy days

Our schools in NJ are off this week also. Maybe it's a second Jersey week

How is a 220+ minute wait even possible? That is 3 hours. Is the ride not RUNNING? Who would even wait for that? I would think once a rides queue gets so long .. that people just give up going INTO it .. (thus keeping the wait time relatively stable).

Whether people like it or not, the Frozen pavilion WILL help disperse the crowds (not only at Epcot .. but the MK as well) .
Same with Avatar land ..

But until then ... long wait times for the two best attractions at the park.

Not to veer off-topic here, but I have seen waits that high and higher for 7DMT, so it's possible! Maybe not common but it definitely is possible. Luckily we had FP for it, but I would've never waited in that line - though clearly many did!

I pray you are right about Frozen helping to disperse crowds. I am completely over Frozen and not on board with the whole overhaul there, but there is nothing I can do. Since I have zero power over it, I will hopefully at least be able to enjoy somewhat shorter Epcot lines!

I think the crowds will decrease after this weekend since so many schools are on break this week because of Easter. The next few weeks should be much better....until colleges and southern schools start getting out for the summer.

Alabama area schools are off this week. A lady from my school was going and said "I dont need fastpasses my father in law is in a wheelchair so we will get front of the line access" Curious to hear the horror stories when she gets back. In our very small private school we have 2 DVC owners and 2 very addicted frequent visitors. We all just shook our heads and said "ok then!"
You MUST share that experience once they get back! :rotfl2:

Well you will either get an earful about how that plan backfired because Disney is so unfair OR you will get some fairy tale because she's too embarrassed to admit the reality. This is a HUGE spring break week and going without FP+ or a plan is recipe for disaster. To be a fly on the wall :rolleyes1

DD works at one of the most popular attractions and I have hardly heard from her all week. I imagine she is so exhausted from work she is crashing her off hours.

When I checked around noon, the only thing left was Captain EO (which also only had a 5 minute wait).

Edit: Just checked again and now Captain EO is all gone but Nemo is available. That's it.

Nemo was listed as a 10 minute wait while LwtL was 35.... We walked over and it was actually a walk on. Another thing that surprised me was no waits at all for any of the flower and garden food booths. It was brutally hot in the middle of the day, but once the sun started to set it got quite comfortable. Here's a couple of shots from today at Epcot:
